US,EU it don't matter people will never stop moaning about Home because NOW it's a glorified MESSENGER.
It's not even got 30% of what was said to be there.
I agree completely shadow.
I rarely visit the PROGRAM anymore.
The sooner it fade's away the better.
All Home is is a reminder that someone's vision has been cut short abit like a film that is Based on true event's you know a couple of thing's are true the other 70% Lie's.

Stop already. You are certainly entitled to not use it but don't speak for the large number of users who do and enjoy it tremendously. Not everyone bought Uncharted Among Thieves and that certainly didn't stop it from getting Game of the Year accolades.

I will say, we've seen tons of new spaces with many new things to do and explore, but what is to be done after we've "been there, done that"? I believe Home has hit a brick wall when it comes to innovation, and we need to get this machine going again. Now some may say: "NJShadow, you don't know what you're talking about! We now have animated clothing and new social games like Salt Shooter!". Well, to that I respond, these are things that should SUPPLEMENT Home, not act as the main attraction. I don't go into Home to play a sub-par mini game that incorporates a community "feel", because that's what the PSN is for. Arcade machines, pool tables and bowling, in addition to other mini-games, are understandable, because they do what they were created to do; create some mild entertainment to take a break from all the socializing in Home, or to pair up with a buddy and mess around, NOT serve as a replacement for full fledged PS3 titles on one of the most incredible gaming machines on the planet.

I read about 6 paragraphs then stopped because the guy was making to many references to SCEA, like Central Plaza and mentioning forum names which i assume may be their moderators or members. Copy and pasted i see.

What's up guys, I was just browsing the European forums and came across this thread, yes, I'm NJShadow and I wrote that up on the NA PlayStation Home forums. Was it meant ONLY for the North American audience? Yes and no. I made several mentions of SCEA, and yet I really was referring to Home in its entirety across all region (give or take Japan...).
This most certainly wasn't a moan and groan, it was a an opinion piece. I was considering writing up a EU version, but have never got around to doing so. I considered just doing a copy/paste, but that just would work and there were many points that referred back to SCEA. But like I said, in addition to SCEA, a good piece of it also referred to Home as a whole, which includes SCEE (Notice I mentioned Jack Buser AND Peter Edwards). Now, if you guys say communication over here in the EU forums is great, then I'm definitely happy for you, but things have been a tad bit different over in North America (with promises of change coming soon, we'll see).
This was a constructive look at Home from someone who has been a part of the community since Closed Beta. It is possible to call out flaws in Home while at the same time supporting it, because after all, that's what us Beta testers should be doing. In addition, this was something that was building for awhile from someone (myself) who never wanted to be blacklisted for thinking freely, because I had been quiet for sometime about quite a few things that just didn't fly, in my opinion, inspired by the thoughts of some REALLY intelligent individuals in Home whom I sincerely value.

I'll be the first to point out (and I dont think im breaking the rules by saying so!?) there IS a BETA section for home, but its only available to BETA testers! So there is feedback, suggestions, improvements and regular contact with DEVS and QaA people.
So I predict that someone is going to post "but why limit it to BETA testers, since its now an open BETA?"
Well in short, I think its easier to manage a closed BETA, we dont need a million+ suggestions in the forums, they would just get lost in the wave of moans/suggestions/comments! Also, I should add that although may not think you are testing much, the open BETA is testing the infrastructure. How well the netwrok manages, server loads etc. The closed BETA concentrates the actual USE of Home, glitcing etc
Thats not to say comments in this section go ignored, im sure devs and Home "workers" are in and out of here all the time so do keep on posting areas you think need changing.

Hey Shadow your "Gerry's Final Thought" really won me over. Good to see you over here again.
And what the NRD said, crosed Beta = WIN. Open Beta = FAIL ![]()
Let the real beta testers strut their stuff in the new Closed Home and get some real testing done.

I agree, this idea of incorporating a new Closed/Private Beta is brilliant. It really settles things down and gives SCE a chance to take a minute and see where they really want the service to go, in addition to testing out some of the things that many of us have been clamoring for over the past few months. This is definitely a good thing. Also, I'm not sure if it affected you guys over here as well, but the North American Central Plaza is INCREDIBLY unstable, meaning that most users can't open their PDAs without causing Home to crash. We'll probably see some good Private Beta participation right before or immediately following a Core Client Update, just a guess. ![]()
And thanks, it's good to hang out around these parts again, as it's always good to diversify one's self. You guys, at least from what I can tell, are class acts. ![]()
