Hey peeps, I wanted to take a moment to dwell on Mercia, and while it's buggy at the moment, don't'ya think it's got potential as a Home game and raising the bar for future ideas??

The one thing that's lacking in Home games is plot/story/depth and that's understandable given the tech limits at the moment. But Mercia is a step in the right direction along with No Man's Land, and last year alone, I doubt that Home games like this could've been possible. Just goes to prove that behind the scenes, progress is marching on.

Your thoughts please, and try to do it without DRAma, it's far too easy to be a moron.

I'm not sure I want plot/story/depth on a Home game. I have my console and a plethora of games available for that. I actually want simple fun and a distraction for a few minutes from a Home game. Oh and the rewards

No drama and to be calling potential posters in your initial post is a bit rude. Some people like drama, it's how you deal with it that speaks for you.

 al2009 I think thats completely out of order,taking someones post an redirecting it to another audience,in essence having it dismantled an taken out of context i would assume so someone might agree with you?! I don't think thats any sort of Forum Etiquette at all and although i've only posted here for a short while,even i would know thats a bit off. Whether its against House Rules i don't know but if i was in charge it would be! An also tsk tsk tsk GlassReaver asked for no drama,how naughty!

On a side note,Fury may get a laugh at seeing Conrad Max at the other end of that link,seeing as he was referenced a few days ago lol

Ok, how do I say this without sounding like a moron or dramatising you... Al, you can't base a collective EU opinion off of one user. You're just assuming we're all (EU) going to hate something because someone isn't overly happy with Mercia. Besides, Fury has justified his opinion more than enough times already but I'm sure it won't be long before he jumps in anyway.

Back on topic, as mentioned before, I have yet to try Mercia but if I will add my thoughts, I'd have to say people would definitely enjoy the game more if it wasn't riddled with bugs. If Lockwood complete these patches properly then I don't think there will be much left to complain on.

here's my thoughts to Mercia (copy and pasted from my other reply)

i find it a best RPG in Home with Controls, good Camera (that shoud look like in Home), Music (i don't find it annoying at all. feels like an actual game or something). I know Mercia have major bugs that didn't got fixed (unlike they didn't got time to fix them). at least Mercia already fixed some bugs when an new update comes later.

I think Mercia is doing well so far (hey, anyone notice how it's ALMOST an anagram of America?). Sure there's bugs, what, you thought it'd come out perfect!? It's based on a freemium model which means you can get what you want out if it fir as much as you want to put into it. Its a tricky business strategy to pull off, but I'm getting off topic with that.

As a game in its own right, I'd say it's not all that bad really. The collision detection needs sorted, and a lock-on wouldn't go amiss either, there's also the fact most quests are just fetch-quests but if you're into the grind that's not much of a problem lol. For Home I'd say it's a good shot at a deeper game within its engine, but obviously still needs an exterminator to go in and clear out the bugs before really leaning on its merits as a critic.

The reason I ask no drama is because when people do it it lowers the tone. If they won't help themselves to have a decent discussion then I'll have no part of it. I merely asked for thoughts on Mercia, nothing more.

 Yes GlassReaver i know,i was having a pop at them doing that offensive thing after you'd asked for no drama,i wasn't having a go at you too lolThe offending post is deleted anyway so no-one will know whats it about now,but yeh i added drama with my response an sorry for that but it was wrong what was previously done.Kudos to Al for recognising that himself though,we all do things at the heat of the moment that we may rather not,me more than most

I have to say that I'm disapointed after all the talk about it. Thought it was going to be more challenging then just running back and forth in 2 places. And that they couldn't bother coming up with a good endquest and some nice reward sucks. Bit boring in a game when you can just grind the last lvl's by handing in a quest, pick it up again and rinse and repeat.
