I am getting bored with the silent nothingness in my apartments, so I figured I should add some music to it. Now I absolutely love trance & dance (can listen to the same song all day-kinda love) and I was wondering what possibilities there are. There is a playground boombox, but I only like one song on it, so it seems to me as a waste of money. I also heard the USA has boxes with different music styles, but I don't know if (and when) they are coming to Europe. I am not aware of other possibilities, so therefore I'm asking you if you can give me some advice on it.

What I don't understand is why they don't sell us a little plasma screen that would allow us to stream our vidzone playlist or channels. Not that would be brill. And for countries that don't get VidZone, just block it so they can't see it when they go into your apt.

Sounds simple, but there's probably some reason it can't be done -- even if it's just laziness.

I'm a fan of the RADIOIO - Billboard Top 100 channel on the EOD in select US apartments. Loot are also supposed to be launching EOD devices as furniture sometime this year.

Still waiting for this stuff to be launched in EU though

I like the VIdZone idea and have suggested it before on a couple occasions - both times it was met with a critical response. So good luck with that Erika_West.

The US has a few extra music "boxes" but are usually tied to spaces wherethe music already exists, like the Cutthroats monkey grinder thing, or Bootleggers Radio. You do get variations of the Boombox, separated into typical American rawk, and rap. The only thing I'd say you have to be jelous of Ankov is the re-mixed hub-floor dance floor "box", which comes as a full size dance floor, plays (the closest thing to) dance music and has moving lights and bubbles.

These limited 3 or 4 song boxes though can be a waste of money when compared to Loots EOD system. I mean free streaming of various genres going from Dance/Trance, Rock or Acustic to Ambient, Classic and even Talk. IF Loot do bring their EOD to the EU region, it'd make any of Sonys little Boomboxes obsolete and pointless.

At the moment the only EU Apartment to give us music ( I mean proper music instead of ones created for Home ) is The London Pub. 

While we're on the subject of LOOT, apparently we do have something coming soon with LOOT's EOD included.

Thanks everyone for the detailed answers. It's a shame I'll have to go with the crappy Boombox then. KrazyFace, what you described sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. Now I'm jealous lol.

I hope LOOT, or any other company for that matter, brings something better onto the European home market.

I used to just have my headset with the extended mouth-piece thing, and put it near my laptop speaker, and made sure I played it at the right volume so it wouldn't sound tinny/screechy/fuzzy. Seemed to go down quite well when I held apartment parties back in the day!

It's been about 3 years since though, and it is time to advance tbh. If they want to keep their customers, they're gonna have to keep us glued and interested.
