Hi guys, i recently had the chance to ask the EA space developer 4 questions.
Here is the message i sent him:
Hi Rob, Im from GB and i love the new EA space! just wanted to ask a couple of questions:
1. when will the space get updated (EU home)?
2. instead of recieving points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd why didn't you just leave it as recieving the chips you win? (just curious!)
3. will there be some sort of 'buy in' system so that people will not have to wait till the end of the game, and maybe a 'buy out' system?
4. will there be poker tables for sale in the EA store? so we can use them with our friends in our appartments or clubhouses for poker nights! (with a leaderboard?)
if you can answer these questions are would be most appreciative, and if you want me to i can post your reply on the EU forums? It's ok if you don't want me to though!
Thanks Rob.
I was not even expecting a reply but to my surprise here it is:
Monkee1,
1. We don't have a specifc date yet .. we are working with Sony on that. My goal is to update the European space when we update the space in the US. This is somewhat challenging since technically there is no European space, we are simply previewing the US space in Europe. We are working on creating a localized version of the same sapce for Europe.
2. In standard poker tournaments the winnings vary but number of chips in your stack needs to start at a reasonable amount to provide bet variation. Since the chip denominations are fixed the easiest thing to do is vary the amount you win based on table difficulty, and number of players.
3. Drop in tables require a completely different game state mechnic and we are reviewing that feature as a future game variation. What we really want are more tables per room, unfortunately that is easier said than done.
4. Maybe .. I like the idea, but we haven't solved that one yet.
You can post these responses if you would like, for some reason my account does not work on the EU forums since I had my status changed to DEV.
Robert
So it's good to get some questions answered.
It does sound like they have already started on designing poker tables that you can purchase, judging by the sly comment he made. I'm a bit confused as to why he doesn't really seem that bothered that he can't post in the EU forums.

DNA think what you want mate!
But trust me i am not the sort of person to make this stuff up!
If you really want me to i can send you a screenshot of my inbox on the NA forums to prove that i got the message from him.
@ jontis what i meant was insteading of winning points why don't you just win the chips? (like facebook style poker)
