No Mans Land

Hi guys,

Yesterday i bought some armour and some weapons for the game before i even attempted it on MP. I actually really enjoyed it and thought that it had a lot of potential.

I know that without any of the upgrades you are pretty defenseless but at the same time i actually don't mind having to spend some money on it, as i don't with any other games i buy DLC for. I know that £31.99 might seem a bit steep for what it is and i do agree, but you do get a LOT for that money including some weapons if i'm not mistaken. You also get exclusive armours in that bundle that can't be purchased seperatley. I never splurged on the big bundle but i did buy a smaller bundle containing 3 armours and i bought a sniper rifle, and assault rifle and a grenade. It seems to be enough and a lot better than the default items you get.

The gameplay itself is quite good i think. Although at first the controls seem a bit off, you do get used to it. On my first play i also got it where my character wouldn't move but this game is still new and has a long way to go before it is perfect. Once i got used to the controls and figured out the map a bit better, everything seemed to run quite well.

This leads me to wonder what everyone else opinions are of the game itself and the content available for it. I think even if you spent just a couple of quid on even one armour then you would enjoy it more and notice a big difference.

I wouldn't give up on it just yet guys. If you like shooters then i think stick with it and see how you get on.

First of all, apologies for 'mutilating' your post Vicky...

That's where the game starts wrong, a lot of Home users simple choose not to spend cash on Playstation Home, I have spent my share of cash for a while and I don't really plan making it a constant habit of spending part of my income on Home. The game should be enjoyable for everyone regardless of how much you want to spend on it.

'A bit steep' is not the defenition you're looking for, what you are looking for is 'way too much', why would somone pay such amounts of cash for game content on a game that:
1) You will never own
2) Handles like complete garbage (I am aware that most of this is due to Playstation Home's engine)

Here's a small price comparison..
No Man's Land content: £31.99
Battlefield 3 (new): £27.99
Call of Duty MW3 (new)£21.90

I mean.... this is simply ridiculous.

Care to highlight what get for that money? I personallly haven't looked deep into the content you get but for what I see so far its mostly perks / weapons and a few items for your avatar.

I already gave my input regarding to this game on the content update thread and I will give it again...
It simple isn't not worth it. Either Veemee chooses to do some changes in future, in order to atract potential future costumers (because for what I saw they are more like 'PAY OR DIE' than 'Pay to improve your ingame experience') or this game may become doomed to be another abandoned space on Playstation Home.

This game is seriously flawed. The fact you are stuck to walls all the time doesnt sit well with me. If you could run anywhere and duck for cover, it would have been a vastly improved worthwhile and possibly fun experience. Sadly it suffers from the age old crap controls syndrome most of the more complex games on home suffer from. Its what happens when you try to put a square peg in a round hole. Home was never intended for games like this and the (really starting to show its age) inadequate home engine cant cope. Im not even going to mention the lag, awful load times, crashes and FARCICAL prices of the top end packs either, just the controls and repetative gameplay mechanics are enough to make me avoid investing any time or money this. Sorry Vickie but no matter how positive you try to be about no mans land, the fact remains you cant polish a turd.

Re: No Mans Land

Haha i'm not here to back it up completley, i was just giving my 2 cents on it. Not saying i'm right and i'm not saying you're wrong. Just thought this place could be where we discuss our opinions on it and have a healthy debate for once. :smileyvery-happy:

I do agree that it is way over priced though but i still did enjoy it. I just hope that they can spruce it up a bit in the future. It would be interesting to see what they can do with it.

Lockwood might turn that into companion, "BOBBY THE JOBBIE" RRP £19.99.

Back on topic. Imagine though the scathing reviews No mans land would get were it a bona fide stand alone disc based game. To buy the full pack you're almost in the realms of brand new game money too. Bit shocking really.

Re: No Mans Land

If you ever wanted to FEEL like true GAMER and experience what it’s like to have all the skill and experience to ‘own’ anyone that comes within range of your weapon, but did not have the talent to even come close, then No Mans Land is the game for you.

For a fee that TRUE gamers will not pay, we can put you into a simulation that looks like a real game and equip you with gear that will make you unstoppable against all other that are foolish enough to play, but not pay.

So get in there and mow down everything you see before everyone realizes what is really going on and stops playing.

LMAO Krazy!! I was just waiting on you doing that haha. *Evil plan still wurkkking* > : )

Lol Fury, maybe if they did release it as a stand alone game though that the engine would be better and we wouldn't be "stuck to the wall".
