This was primarily meant for the post-xmas batch of new Home users, but should I update this list now?

You can always check out the entire catalogue of currently available Home goodies in the item database:

It even goes through all the stores and finds all the items that are free and lists them.

Free items appear occasionally in Home updates. Home currently updates every Thursday, so there is always a chance that there will be some new free items each week.
