Re: PlayStation Home Scheduled Maintenance - 17th Feb

Have to agree with broly for a change. Glad to see such a cool unlock is coming this update :smileyhappy: sure why not give people a chance to buy it in the future but nice to see EA rewarding people who buy the game and play it well.

Re: PlayStation Home Scheduled Maintenance - 17th Feb

Unfortunately it was just very poor wording on the blog and the costume does in fact cost £1.99.

Which is an absolute shame as it would've been a perfect reward for getting through that difficulty in the game. Definitely agree with Broly. Should be a lot more rewards from games than there is at the moment. People repay generosity with loyalty.

Burnout Paradise is a good example game wise where they gave top quality DLC for free before offering a premium selection. Game exclusive Home rewards plus costumes etc. for purchase would be the ideal compliment towards Home.

It's a shame that there's not many games that even offer rewards.

Magic the Gathering has some very cool rewards, but are they available for Europe as well? It would be nice if more games included rewards, actually why not make it mandatory for each release, at least the big ones

this links shows all the xbox 360 / xbox live arcade that have avatar awards

now compare that list to the small handful of games that offer home rewards

Re: PlayStation Home Scheduled Maintenance - 17th Feb

^

Makes a good point seeing that to me seems like hardly any game companies have any interest at all in ps home, its probably too hard to work with, as xbox live is all one thing isnt it? No matter where your from.

Home being a actual program. It probably fails most because its a different home for every different area. therefor the companies have to spend more time getting raitings for all realms of home right.. Its why home is a let down to them imo it restricts them.

Out of that list alone I can see some that do in fact offer some Home rewards but there are other non-exclusive games on that list which don't. Those that do go a long way ahead in what's being shown there too but there's no excuse to make it for one and not for the other.

I know Broly touched on the issue of having split regions etc. but if the game can launch in a region without any issues, then surely there would be no issue in the rewards going out aswell. Personally to make it for one and nother other screams out laziness. Maybe it's tricky, who knows for sure but it would certainly be welcome to see more games utilizing it rather than ignoring it altogether.

Rip a model from the game, programme it to work in Home code and add it as a reward.

Just want to add that the following have unlockables via the game on PS3:

About a Blob

Magic the Gathering

Red Dead Redemption

Crazy Taxi

Time Crisis 4

Sonic Adventure

Catan

Street Fighter 4

Super Street Fighter 4

Dead to Rights: Retribution

Namco Museum Essentials

White Knight Chronicles

MegaMan 10

PixelJunk Shooter

Tekken 6

Batman Arkham Asylum

Resident Evil 5

But then you need to start narrowing down the games which offer rewards that are worth getting. As we know many of the Home board users find t-shirts as thrilling as a baked potatoe in a carrier bag.

Some games also have pre-order bonuses don't forget

i also have a problem with pre order bonuses tbh... i mean people go around collecting home stuff just for the sake of having it so some get suckered in to pre order a bad game. Im not one of these people but yes there out there.

i would much rather the full costumes to come with every ones game. as that is a reward for buying it not just buying it early. Pre order bonus's should be IN game rewarding Not home rewarding imo. ( think red dead warhorse)

I would like to be rewarded for playing games.. Not oh yay i beat this level on hard mode an all i got was this lousy tshirt or nothing.. oor ok now il go buy the costume for $4.25 on home... This is where preorder bonuses come in as they normally are a Costume of one of the characters.

No one has to agree with my views im just over being ripped off with stuff MIDWAY carnival was one. I think i lost money and tickets just because of the game freezing or disconnecting halfway through a turn even though i waited like 15minutes for the space to load.. Yes i complained about it no one cared.
