Ok,this is my proposal.
Instead of 1 person, how about a panel made up of voted people in the community, females, males, the undecided(In home avatar terms).
Rotated/Changed after every Q+A,and voted for again for 2 weeks before the next Q+A,to include time for community Q's to be considered and as its a panel, more people to sift through the Questions in a question thread and generally interact with the community,as they do now.
The only condition i would make would be 1 of the panel is an MVP,a panel foreman if you will.
But this doesn't have to stop with Home,it can be used to have dialogue with the mods,SCEE,about the store or whatever.
Discuss.
Edit:borrowed a couple of things in here from ghosthunter and the other thread and made new one so as not to derail the other one anymore than it has already.

It's a good idea - but it would need to be accepted by SCEE - although not necessarily from the outset.
We'd need an external site which had a voting system on it. And I think it should be based on (say) 5 nominations gets people onto the ballot paper - and no person can nominate more than 2 people.
It will be important to ensure a gender balance. For this reason, I would propose that there are two lists - a male list and a female list and the top 5 from each list gets on the panel. One problem with this is it's had to know who's which sometimes on here - perhaps it should be a condition of entry that the nominees complete an accurate person statement which, if subsequently found to be false, would disqualify them.
I think the voted panel members need to show a huge amount of responsibility for canvassing views and accuratly representing them. Perhaps if someone fails to do this, there would be a vote of no confidence in that member.
International issues complicate things further. Is this English-speaking only? Or UK only? How can a reasonable international representation be assured. Perhaps each country or country cluster get's a certain number of members (a bit like the European parliament) based on the average number of posts on their board - or based on Home users if SCEE will provide the info.
It's all do-able - but it will be hard work and an important responsibility.

I'd go with that CoolTails,
but I think what will happen with the current Q&A event will be when the details are posted and the inevitable onslaught starts a post will appear saying "we tried it but it didn't work, we will look at a different approach and get back to you" ( 6 months later). End of story.

Ok,now the Q+A's been and Gone, this is my idea for the next one.
2 guys,2 girls and an MVP(No,its not Bravo movie on a sat night
)
For Example:
Forkless MVP
Artur1982
Sinister1jp
Gigglz(i think is a girl)
East_Avenge
I think thats a good panel, all been critical, all been praising and all different views on whats important to them and giving a broader range of the community.
Mvp to ask the Q's on behalf as captain and there you go.
Discuss.

Yes,but don't suppose it matters really for a pretend panel.
