I joined this group the other day to mic up and this guy knew my IP address, where I live, all the websites I'v visited and could even freeze my console (just me alone).

How do you know for sure. Did this guy tell you the information to prove he wasn't bluffing?

Normally all they can get is an IP and DNS, which doesn't always geotrace to your exact location depending on the ISP.

I've heard of this happening before - don't voice chat with people you don't know in future.

Well he said "You're from Canby?" and he was right but he didn't know my address I don't think, I never asked. He told me he knew my IP and he also was naming off all the websites I'v visited. He even froze the other guy in the group after saying he was gonna do it.

Did you report the user? Moderation can only help you if you file a report, it get's harder to investigate these things if people fail to do so.

When I called SONY I was told they don't record mic conversations and unfortunately the perpetrator didn't type anything reportable. So just a heads up to anybody who didn't know hackers can do that.
