Furys-embrace wrote:Can I make a suggestion for future meets that have a developer present. Can they be possibly held in a clubhouse or something as they tend to descend into farce as there is so much irrelevant chatter going with randoms passing through, non english speakers and certain meet up regulars that dominate the chat log and turn it into "its all about me" show
its probably hard for the actual developer present to follow and answer questions coherantly when this happens. Personally I REALLY struggled to follow anything this evening as there was too much text flooding the log that wasnt really relevant to a QA session.
It was a bit shambolic tonight and I think more structure is required. Perhaps one of the Meet up organisers could pre screen questions from people wishing to attend via PM prior to the event then them and ONLY them put the questions to the devs who are kind enough to attend, with people given the opportunity to respnd after a a question has been answerd?
Sorry if I sound like im being negative but if future QA sessions turn out like this and are in this format I probably wont be attending as I didnt really gain a great deal of information and its a lot easier just to read about it on here AFTER the event.
Anyway thanks to the Digital leisure guy for coming.
The non-English speakers are common attenders because they're friends with some of the other common attenders.
It's a pain, I know, as a lover of languages I love to see it and try to study what they're saying, but in a big crowd like that, it's really a pain.
It does need to be in a clubhouse where we can say "English only" to be honest.

Casino Info:
In the next update we will be getting video poker added to the casino with brand new rewards. It will work similar to the slot machines. You can use your free weekly chips to play. It will be gameplay the same as or similar to "Jacks or Better" (Look it up).
There will be a new reward added to the fountain this coming Wednesday and there will be new rewards added each month afterwards. When the new reward is added each month the previous reward will no longer be available and may never come back.
Craps will be added to the Casino later this year in a larger update (This fall).
Possibly setting up a How-To table for begginners on Poker.
Saloon personal space info:
There will be an update coming to the Saloon (no ETA as of yet) with a whole new range of rewards for owners and visitors to the Saloon.
They are looking into the possibilty of releasing the piano as an active item aswell as the other games within the Saloon.
Digital Leisure Space Station Apartment Info:
The Space Station apartment will come with a station defense mini game.
The apartment comes with rewards.
It will have sofa's, bed's, prop's, some clothing and even a UFO sidekick!
It should be available to purchase in a few weeks time.
Hotel room info:
There will be an all new VIP personal space coming soon. The apartment with the 40k package will soon be replaced with the new one. You will be able to win it and the old version of the VIP personal space will still be around.
Something is to happen to the free hotel room on the 1st of August.
Other Digital Leisure news:
Mad Dog Mcree will be coming to PSN with the possibility of some Home content.
Digital Leisure have told us that there are going to be very busy this summer with bringing us loads of new fun stuff and some great updates. They even mentioned briefly about a new public space which will be coming.
They were very happy to listen to our requests and suggestions and really took everything on board that we were saying and have told us to expect loads of new outfits! A few of people's suggestions were very good and i think they even agreed to look into doing some of them, things like a new Jester outfit and some new hats with good hairstyles.
If you have any of your own suggestions then be sure to follow Digital Leisure on Twitter: @digitalleisure
Congratulations to our winners tonight who each won 1000 chips. They should be on your account by Monday night!

Thanks Fury.
I know that sometimes it can be very hard to keep up. I should know having to write it all down! Lol.
Although what i will say is that the whole point in the Community Meet Up's are so that anyone and everyone is welcome to come along. These event's are always a bit hectic, i guess it is just part and parcel of attending.
Personally i love the variety of languages and i make a great effort to make conversation with them. For me personally if i was to make it into a clubhouse event, it would limit the numbers of who couuld come and then it would be an invite only situation which i think to be honest is a little unfair as it is welcome to all to attend.
In future if you have a specific question you would like to ask then send it to me in a PM and i will try my hardest to get it answered for you. Even if you have asked and it has been missed i will try my best to get it answered.
I think Digital Leisure dealt with the strain tonight very well and i feel like they gave us some really good information. Take a look back at last year where things like this were unthinkable. I think it is a great step forward in customer/developer relations and i hope to see more of them. Patience is the key.
These events aren't easy to organise but it is worth every bit of effort when you see the end result!
I understand they arent easy to organise, and appreciate the effort taken by yourself Jest and revy involved IN organising them. But when it descends into a free for all like it was tonight I have to question the worth of actually attending them at all when I may as well just read about it here.
Its right what you say though that community meets ARE for all the community but Im sorry, my patience wears a bit thin when people are talking about stuff that has little to do with the actual QA and are just filling the chat log with the sound of their own text. I dont have issue with it at standard meets and I expect it, but QA sessions are something else entirely.

Great meet up and QAI think everyone who asked a question got it answered tonight
of course it is a bit hectic, but public spaces are always like that, good thing you can always read back the chat box
QA in clubhouses? No way, the whole purpose of these QA is that anyone from anywhere can join them. And like always anything you missed you can just read back here
I wont be attending future ones then sorry, if they are like this. They are too shambolic for me. its easier just read through Vicki's notes here than to have to wade through miles of rambling banter that seems to be the same week after week.
