How many of you out there would like to see the chess experience in all the areas in Home i.e. Home Square, Indie Park, Shopping Mall East and Playground improved.

By improved, I mean for all the glitches to be fixed, maybe more tables to keep down the queues and also some some tournaments (if possible, between the various country servers maybe as well) where people can actually win real prizes.

As apposed to those stupid rewards to put in your apartment or with which to dress up your avatar.

Please say why or why not - not just yes or no.

The reason I'm asking by the way, is that I've been told by Sony UK that it doesn't see it as important enough compared with their subscription online games and would probably only do anything with the existing chess tables once they were doing a complete revamp of Home, which is what they've just done haven't they with their 6.5 update - Home I mean, not the chess within Home.

Yeah, I think you may well be right - they're all about the money Sony, but no so much about the customer service - I wonder if that's why they're $6.4 billion in the red!

Not really a chess fan myself, I think Ive played it less than five times on home. Tbh if they removed all the tables I doubt Id even notice. I'm not the only one who thinks that way either Logic, which is probably why Sony dont see it as high priority. Sorry.

I personally loved to play chess on the Home Square, it got always a nice feeling. Its not really the same in Shopping Centre and the new Adventure area

i seriously dont think we should improve a petty chess system until more important things are sorted out first like region favouritism and the annoying stability error codes

if bowling and pool got a face-lift im sure chess should aswell tournaments would be cool but real live prizes no id rather stick to the stander furniture and tees

Nordlyset - I found your reply interesting. I too like playing in Home Sq - it seems the different spaces attract different demographic groups.

Indie Park's very competitive & seems to be the most popular with a very high standard of play. Mind you, that's from somoneone who loses more games than he wins in whatever place he visits!

Home Square I has good players, but are maybe younger & not quite so proficient. Sony plse don't do another dusk, buildings on fire, floor tiles messed up scenario in Home Sq as last time my avatar's shadow was in the way of the damn pieces - dotting 'I's & crossing 't's issue again! 

Playground has a good standard but seems to be overun by idiots & glitches.

Adventure district - Not played there much to give an opinion - due to Sony AGAIN not sorting the bloody lighting out - can't see the boards properly!

Shopping Mall East's ONE table seems to attract alot of young east europeans, Auzzie/kiwi people & is prone again to idiots!

Maybe I'll play you one day & WIN!

Are you saying Aussies and Kiwis are idiots!? Haha! I'm just middling', I'm sure that's not what you ment. I gave up on chess after a while due to people rage quitting anytime I got close to winning.

Even though I rarely play it, I do think the chess people should be better catered to. Everything else gets a fair amount of attention so chess should too.
