The Home square is so "cluttered" as some people put it, because of all the advertising and contractural agreements between Sony and 3rd parties. These companies pay Sony for the privilege of having their stuff in the most visible place in Home. The first place you go from your apartment is the Home square/central plaza, so as a company with an advertising budget, you'd be mad not to take advantage of it. Money talks a lot louder than an extremely tiny cross-section of users.
As an alternative, if we're all so concerned about grass, the Aurora space has much. The Japanese apartment has plenty (and that's even got the redeeming feature of no advertising and nobody spamming you with spoilers and trying to justify the reasons behind hacking). The Siren space has grass as well.
Like I always (never) say, if there's a problem, there's always a way around it
Besides, if you're that determined to sit on virtual grass, I think Home is not the right service for you...
Ooooo, Gunny you're so hot when you get all serious and masterful. ![]()

Hey Mr Steel i agree with your comment about the "cattle market " I just go there for a quick look then move on.

1) You don't know 50% of the community to stick up for. (every member of my family have loads of friends on home & none of them or their friends seem know you either)
2) 70% of the home community are MALE, (SONY'S OWN STATISTICS) so does that mean your also male? (going to get a mega bite on that one)
3) Don't make false clams under the pretence of acting for others.
4) Nobody on home is "scared" to voice their opinions there, so what makes this forum so scary? (RDZ perhaps?)
5) YOU ARE BOTHERED BY OUR OPINIONS, OTHERWISE YOU WOULD HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO REPLY.
6) Your also a liar as the facts above confirm.
Your true interest in this forum is to stir it up, with no real intent on helping the community at all. You change your story as often as weather. Unfortunately for you, to be a good liar you have to have a very good memory because there are many like me who remember things very well (& for all 10 or so RDZ supporters go check every post by her/him before you try to slate me). So hypocrite, you promised us last year you were "leaving home, selling your PS3 & NEVER COMING BACK!"
So go away, because your about as popular as a dose of syphilis at an orgy. (*Bets RDZ & her little clan, Cannot resist further posts on this thread now*)
As regards the new statue in the square, yes it's weird, but, it will only be temporary & you will be very grateful next week when you collect your FREE WELCOME BACK PACK THERE (RDZ will I'm sure find several things to moan about it but s/he'll start a new thread on that topic then sure as eggs is eggs) Since the square as affectionately known by the "real ladies" on home as "The cattle market" due to the amount of rude foul mouthed idiotic youths just being a total bunch of Wkrs, (neither my wife or my daughter have ever managed a decent conversation there for more than 2 mins before some random jerk off has butted in) I have to ask, "Why is it so important to have a patch of green kept sacred RDZ?" I rest my case.
P.S.
A song has just sprung to mind Cyndy Lauper- True Colours

Just as a side issue to the pics I put up , all the same portals are in the Japanese home square but because the area is so large you can always find places away from them . Please don't attack me for expressing my opinion like some have done with RDZ . I am mostly very satisfied with how Home is and I love going on it . Nice to finish a moan on a positive note don't you think ? ![]()

I agree that is the reality, Gunnalot....but advertising space can still be utilised in a more attractive and less clunky looking way that can be just as eyecatching to draw in new and old Home users to the products and spaces.
An ugly, cluttered Home Square with obvious and garish looking portal objects can and is putting off a good many people....a calm, green and serene area on the other hand, relaxes me and makes me no less inclined to shop and check out other new or updated spaces. They can do this a better way - sometimes less is more.
As for the grass at Siren Space, well....anyone fancy a Home picnic in the pitch dark with homicidal nurses roaming around? LOL
Have you seen Chelmsford on a Friday night? Only replace homicidal nurses with paramedics and police officers
I think the best solution would be to create an extension to the space. What I have in mind would be a similar layout to the PSN sphere. Have everything grouped together in a semicircle next to eachother. Open out the bay area, and leave the rest of the main space alone. Or maybe even open up those gates that everybody seems so obsessed with?
I like it, Gunnalot....these are workable ideas, can this be forwarded to the design team?
Maybe the portals need shrinking slightly too, so more can be lined up....I personally like the portals to Alpine Lodge and Vertical Race at Audi....out of the way, unobtrusive and blending nicely with the rest of the space area.
