Hmm, fair enough. Though I might indeed buy a warm, moist poo poo if they told me they'd give me other "mystery" gifts constantly for the foreseeable future lol. You chuck the turd away Fury, its inconsequential here, what matters is the rest. You didn't like the sandwich comparison (key word there) so let's do the ol' car analogy; What if you bought an old Ford escort right, it's nasty to look at, people you know will give you funny looks when you're in it and it used to belong to a teenager who'd obviously had all kinds of fun in the back seat. BUT, Ford also said they'd give you a smart lil' original Mini, and cut the cost of your road tax. And just because they can, they're also gonna give you new stuff to do up either car like new rims, bumpers, lights, whatever... Every week.

I KNOW you're being forced into buying something you don't want Fury but it's just a bitter pill to swallow before that warmth from inside hits you (wow, now I'm on an e metaphor!) and you reap in the best bits.

I'm just gonna stop talking now before I turn this thread into a mess...

LOL the car analogy still doesnt work because 1. it would never happen (arent ford in the steaming doo doo financially now, hmmm much like Sony?) and 2. as Elfen pointed out, you can sell the old car on.

You're all making BIG assumptions about these perks too. SCEE and SCEA are two different companies, they have different budgets, different strategies and most importantly different staff. Corrrect me if I'm wrong but no one from SCEE has ever made a comment that buying the mansions WILL unlock future benefits here. So what happens if you end up spending 20 odd quid buying all the mansion and all you get is a bonus garage with 3 or 4 gold cars (which Ive seen btw and they all look terrible).  Its not like you can trade it in and get something you actually want now is it?

   But you also get:

* 1 Chess table (Garage)

* 1 Checkers table (Garage)

* 1 Pool table (1st Floor)

* 1 Darts game (1st floor)

*  Around 20 gold rewards that you can also give to friends

* A large current ads and featurette screen (Garage)

* Fountain wish game (Garage)

The Ground floor and Infinity pool dont have any extra features other than what you see (Tiger in Ground floor I suppose)

It can be a very garish space, and there are others that are better, but it does indeed have it perks - only in NA though, I wouldn't buy it here as the 100 item offers, free Wizard Den, X7 entry etc are not available in EU at this time.

As for those who feel they are elite owning this space, especially the bores who do their ner-ner-ner-ner-nerrr dance behind the rope at NA cinema, well they are just bitterly sad...I prefer to share what I have, not rub peoples noses in it.

Buying the mansion can be a matter of style and taste, but it's more importantly a test of character and WHY they want to buy it.

Re: The Mansion and it's perks

Yeah but none of those so called 'perks' in your bullet points jusify the asking price imo. The LKWD yacht was a pound cheaper, wasnt garish and you got 30 items that werent nasty gold tat and friends could get five rewards too....

Re: The Mansion and it's perks

I'm glad you got it for 3 pounds.  They're charging Aussies $17.95 for each, 1st floor, ground floor and pool.  So $17.95 + $17.95 + $17.95 = $53.85 for the 3.  What a *****ing joke !  Overpriced bull*****.  Plus oh yeah we need REAL money to gamble with play money.  Another joke !  Trying to turn kids into gamblers.  You should be ashamed PS.  I hope people will start seeing through this crap and not use the damn thing !

That is wrong. I am an Aussie and i have brought it, the Ground floor is $17.95 the pool was $11.95 the First floor was $6.95 you get discounts for each part you own. So it is NOT $17.95 for all 3 that is false...

Do i think i am better than anyone else? Not in the slightest i just liked the look of the spaces (the ground floor is a little to golden tho) the first floor has a nice look to it but thats just me to each their own

Re: The Mansion and it's perks

Exactly Jester; each to their own.

Fury, I'm not saying I LIKE the space, I'm saying that (in NA Home) the perks attched to the mansion are worth the asking price of just one peice. If someone said to me in EU Home that I could get 300 clothing/furniture items, a free space, access to certian areas and loads of discounts on other stuff (not to mention the little un-locks for other spaces) for 20 quid I'd easily buy it. I usually spend around 8 hours in Home daily, so these things would be used by me quite often, giving them value.

 But it's like anything else mate, you paid whatever for Darksiders and got enjoyment from it and I paid nothing and got nothing from it. Sounds like a fair deal right? You don't HAVE to buy anything if you don't like it, or wouldn't get use from it but if you're getting extras from a purchase you would get enjoyment from then it's a judgment call on the product by the buyer then really.

 As for the forceing of particular items on us; well that happens everywhere too, dosen't it? My girlfriend comes home with two of each foodstuffs on a regular basis because they "were on offer" and she felt some sorta compulsion to buy two of everything for the sake of a few pennies. When we got our car, she was nearly talked into paying an extra five quid a month for an pre-connected iPhone cable, over the 3 years we'd keep the car we'd have spent an extra 720 pounds (sorry, my pound sign has turned into # for some reason) for a CABLE. Someone said the best selling thing in NA was the 7 Day x7 pass for a while, this puzzles the hell outta me. You might as well turn your dollars into confetti and chuck it at a bride as she comes out the church for all you get from that deal.

 Looks like the way Home's going (with product anyway) is the way of th world. Good deals and bad deals, each decided by the end user and their preferences. Forget analogies and comparisons then and just look at it as a package, and ask whether you'd benefit from it or not.

 Or just go buy a god-damned sandwich (which only had 3 flavours BTW Fury, NONE of which I realy wanted).

Re: The Mansion and it's perks

LOL alright Krazy, alright.

Each to their own I guess. But I for one am never gonna shell out for the mansion because I cant stand it as a product and what it stands for. The whole "exclusive perks" thing doesnt sit well with me. I wont buy something I dont like just because there is a possibility its the only way to obtain something in the future I MIGHT like. To me thats unethical business practice, but I'm not gonna open that can of worms on Sony's forums. I spend far more money on home than I should really and I think its a bit unfair that just because I dont like a specific item, Im excluded from obtaining other items. After all whats the difference in me putting  £20 in my psn wallet and spending it all on home items I WANT, the money all still goes to sony, but just because im not spending that money on something Sony are PUSHING me to buy I miss out?

The way I see it though if enough people buy the mansion in EU it will just send a clear message to Sony that they can ramp up prices because people are prepared to pay it. It happened in NA when they introduced that gold suit. It was a big seller over there, a lot of people bought it JUST because it cost $14.99 and they could show off, and guess what happened, prices on new content crept up. You used to be able to get a full five piece costume on US home for 99c, now youre lucky if you can get a top for that. However, thats US home, not EU. But what I dont want  to see is the whole mansion thing take off here which will only send a message to SCEE that they can charge silly amounts for, IN MY OPINION, garish tat, by adding "perks".

As my best friend IRL says. "You cant polish a turd"

That is all.
