Where do I begin?
I've completed 29/30 Midway games, and 298/300 levels. Skills, luck, patience and perseverance have all played a part in where I am today; extremely damn close to receiving the Red Midway 3 Jacket, and ultimately, completionist status.
So near, yet so so far. I cannot for the life of me get past Penny Pincher level 9. I've spent well over 500 tickets just on that level, but just cannot get the required 950 points. It's fair to say I've been terribly unlucky. The game relies heavily on chance, and it's not long before the tickets add up.
The worst thing about Penny Pincher is the fact that chance is a bigger factor than skill in determining success. There is no consistency as to where the penny will land, no 'sweet spot' and when, after over 500 attempts, I'm still getting no-where, you can understand my frustration.
I've emailed Mass Media Inc. about this, but I'm not holding my breath. They're a business and like many others, they probably care more about money than customer satisfaction.

Hello,
I am contacting you regarding the game Penny Pincher in The Midway 3 , in PlayStation Home.I will be honest and say that I have enjoyed the games across all 3 Midways, and would like to thank you for bringing the spaces and rewards to PlayStation Home.I have currently completed 298/300 levels across all 3 Midways, with Penny Pincher 9 and 10 remaining. After spending well over 500 tickets on just Level 9, I cannot complete it due to the sheer amount of luck needed to land on the 250 Points spot. The experience is now frustrating me since these last two levels of Penny Pincher is preventing me from getting the Red Jacket, and ultimately the completionist status. Many of your games do rely on luck to be completed, but Penny Pincher is the biggest culprit. During the course of spending over 500 tickets, as well as seeking help from other players, a conclusion has been established that the landing of the tossed penny has no consistency, there is no 'sweet spot' and it relies heavily on chance. Could you please comment on this?I am eager to complete the game but have at the moment lost heart in purchasing more tickets, since I have not been lucky in over 500 attempts. The fact that I have completed everything else suggests I do not lack the required skills to complete Penny Pincher. I'm hoping something can be done to make the game easier in one way or another.I await your response, ashiano

I had the same problem as you, once I reached Level 9 it was like I hit a wall. You effectively need 4/5 reds to pass Level 9, and I was lucky to land on 2, and was only very occasionally hitting 3 before failing and haveing to start all over. The thought of knowing once you eventually complete level 9 you had to redo it all again for level 10 was soul destroying!
However, there is a sweet spot that if you hit it, although still random, does increase your chances significantly enough to then get the points needed to pass Level 9. It maybe that you were doing the same as me and are not quite hitting it, hence you having the same frustration I had.
I watched a brief video (credit goes to Inflicted131313), that shows you just where you need to stop the arrow for best chances to hit the red. Where I had been aiming was very very slightly out from the video. After watching the video it wasn't long afterwards I passed Level 9, and the build up to it I noticed my scores improve enough that I was frequently hitting the red at least 3 times. About 10 minutes later I passed Level 10, and in free play have got the 1000pts three timess in not that many goes.
The video is from the USForums, here is the link to it if you wish to have a look, and I hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

Well, I finally completed it yesterday afternoon, using only 29 tickets. I had a look at that video but I got it without hitting that spot consistently. In fact, a few of my shots seemed off-target but somehow landed on that +250 spot. I'm guessing I just got lucky (finally!) or it was Karma. Either way, I feel incredibly accomplished.
Thanks for your post, Mermaid-KT. If anything, it motivated me to have another go, and succeed.
Well done and congratulations ![]()
Its a very frustrating game and like you, I think I felt more relief than anything else for passing it. They should have the golden penny reward soon, then you can start all over again to try and get 5/5 reds ![]()
Atleast it will be free now though
