Hey peeps, I just wanted to raise a topic about usernames. DeviantArt just enabled theirs today and the thought had crossed my mind many times why some places are staunch and don't allow you to change your username.

On DA it's limited to being a premium member and only once every 6 months, they also allow username changes on Xbox360 Live at a cost of 800 (8 quid or equivalent to) tokens per change. Sooooooo it would be nice if Sony made something like that so that a user fed up of the name they joined with can change it. I realise that some people would use this as a trolling effort hense the restrictions such as pricing and membership perking.

Anyone with thoughts on this?

Honestly it does sound like something i think we should be allowed to do but at the same time i'm used to my ID, and would you really change yours if given the chance? I know i'm fed up of "Vicki why are you legendary???" or "What makes you a legend?" Get's kinda repetitive after a while but still don't think i'd change it.

Haha yes I'd change mine because I've had this nickname for ages and well, it does get repetitive, you're right, and in many ways, and as in the case of meself, I've been developing my art styles and think I found a niche, as well as the username is accociated with an oldie game I used to love, so yeah, I'd like to cast that off and create a new username, one that fits me nowadays, but can't be done here (yet) and I'm not about to abandon this account and everything collected just to make a new fitting username. I'm sure you'd feel the same if presented with such an event.

This topic actually comes up a lot on psn.... people even wouldn't mind paying to have there user name change

I'd pay to change mine, i hate it. I'm in the "just did it quick to get playing" camp.

i understand this dilemma i used to be called Promethus lol spelled wrong aswell i fortunately made a this account (WoLF-KBOOM) before trophies were implemented in games and home but yes we should be able  to change our name for a fee and have to keep it for a couple months not that id change mine

A lot do I think, a then when they settle in, they say "hell I hate this username" but can't change it. So the option to do so would be nice

You can change your username on the Xbox for a fee (points) so don't know why Sony doesn't have it in place aswell.
