Re: YPSH 3rd Anniversary Give Away

Wow! Ouch Ed, very harsh picture hun, but I had to laugh :Winner:

Thanks GOODBYTES for the very useful information & thanks to a good friend with a good eye, I too got the goodies for a refreshing change :Ill::Thumbs::Winner:

It's not often I see eye to eye with GOODBYTES, (in fact I think it's a 1st) but on this occasion I am in 100% agreement  BIG KUDOS

It's so nice to hear new people getting rewards instead of all the usual suspects. (Who repeatedly gloat about it afterwards I might add). Especially  the rigged competitions in home  where the same faces always win because their  "open to all" arranged meetings in home square etc are in truth "open to forum friends on my ps3 friends list only ."

You see I gave up trying to participate a good while back because there are 3 phases of play 1st of all you have to be on the correct server. I got lucky on more than 1 time (3 or 4 of us server hopping), but then phase 2 involves "THE CLAN" pretending you don't exist by ignoring you completely, so you start to SHOUT TO DRAW THEIR ATTENTION, at which point phase 3 kicks in. 1 will say  "Oh so & so's online I'm off to see him/her." 2 says "Oh yes, I'll join you" then 3 4 5 & 6 etc. will mysteriously vanish too.

So you start server hopping to find them & about 45 mins later you land on them again & you get "Oh sorry competitions closed now your too late." DON'T TRY TO DENY IT  YOUR FRIENDS LISTS ARE CONVENIENTLY FULL IF WE TRY TO ADD (yes I use that trick too) "sorry the person you are tying to add is full" upon sending add request. So much for home community building.

So personally speaking if certain "secret society clan" members dipped out HOORAY & a bid Ed Carnaby  picture from me too :Sniper:

For those of you unfortunate enough not to win, don't despair keep trying you will get lucky (or try shift work if your really desperate to win) joke*

Clan members feel free to add your defensive group assault on this post so everyone can see who you really are (although to be honest I think most on here know exactly who I'm talking about)

Getting back on the thread now we need more of this type of information for forum members to help & benefit the whole community rather than just the few  who pride themselves on their own vanity & self centred importance. 1 at least of whom has posted on here & has tried to transform useful information for all into a pack of lies from goodbytes. Guess s/HE is upset that  I got 1 of his buddies codes never mind Queenie. I'm sure you will ensure they win your next competition:Stupid:

Bear a grudge much? and you have come on to here to gloat that you got a code?

I maybe getting on a bit, dodgy memory etc, but for the life of me, I can't remember the last time there was a competitive event held in Home square. Certainly not in 2011. Again, as far as I remember, the last in-Home code giveaway was by nDreams staff in the Aurora space last month. No doubt someone will correct me.

Maybe you are confusing "competitions" with the weekly(ish) community meet-ups? These were initiated in the wake of the PSN shutdown this year. Yes, they can be tricky to find, but that is as a function of how Home works.

As for being ignored in Home, maybe your approach is wronng? I can't comment on that, because I can't recall seeing you in Home.

Yes, there is a dearth of events in Home, competitive or otherwise. So, why dont you, dragonpirate, organise something. I will see you there.

Re: YPSH 3rd Anniversary Give Away

I'm not a person known for denying the truth or sugarcoating things. You all know this :smileyhappy:

To confirm, the only reason I won any "community" prizes in the past was because I had to hang out with (for the most part) a bunch of losers, allow their prejudice and intolerance to non-sheepish behaviour to break me down and be on some of their lists.

Eventually, competitions came up in the Home Square (not this year mind you) and I have won a couple of prizes on my main and alt ID's. How did I win? I bypassed phase 1 and 2 as dragonpirate puts it thanks to the above. It simply can't be denied. Maybe a lot of the people that cry foul are quite frankly stupid bitter individuals anyway but they do carry a point, and simply lack the social means (or braincells) to put it eloquently and in a way that would help you guys see it for what it is. A sham :smileyhappy:

There is nothing community about...

There is nothing community about limiting which parts of the community get a realistic chance at winning. There is nothing community about community meet ups in which the same group gets a warm welcome and anyone else is given a cold one. There is nothing community about "community run" events where people get booted simply because of their reputation, rather than their behaviour in the actual event.

I'd like to add a positive note :smileyhappy:

You can never time a code hand out too well on a platform used by all time zones but Lockwood handled things relatively well IMO and to combat the working hours problem they gave a huge number of rewards out. We have to remember not everybody is from Britain and a lot of people in Australasia, Eastern Europe and maybe visitors from other Homes were able to get treats for a change. So a worthy effort, Lockwood. Well done.

I'd also like to add a thank you to the people who have become more wise to things and over time accepted me for who I am, rather than detested me for who I am not :smileyhappy:

And P.S. Kneejerk reactions are flesh wounds from the sword of truth  *looks up*

Lockwood (in association with YSPH) did do a good job combating the terrors of time zones by offering a large number of rewards in an attempt to give everyone a chance; however like with most competitions such as this there will be people who redeem the code many times on many accounts therefore taking the reward away from others... the sad part is this person only uses 3 of the 10 accounts they redeemed it on and their reasoning behind it was "'I'd rather have the items on my accounts than on some random noobs".

But all in all the competition was pretty good. Well done LP & YPSH.

To the best of my memory the last Sony promoted code giveaway was in October/November 2010 where MB created a new username (with blank friendlist) and hid in a space. The first 5 to find him were rewarded with a redeem code for PS Mini Young Thor. I believe LordRoss was also operating under another username and also had 5 codes to give away.

Before that there was the Star Wars giveaway by Thylaudax. Prior to that there is only one redeem code competitions that I can recall on Home which was Rag Doll Kung Fu.

You are also right with the last in Home giveaway being by nDreams who jumped around all the regions of Home for small periods of time over 24 hours and held a quiz.

As for the YPSH giveaway, it was intended to be for the YPSH community as far as I know to celebrate the site being 3 years old. While a lot of people are complaining about not getting a code etc. there will be a lot of people from that community who also missed out on a promotion that was created for them. The code wasn't hidden on the site to the point that it couldn't be found although I did have it sent to me in a message by Bytes. By that time though, I imagine that code was being passed around by many people so while it was requested not to be posted to give everyone an opportunity, it was inevitably gonna be shared around.

Such a limited amount can go in next to no time when it's being shared out. I remember the Locoroco t-shirt code was limited to 3000 and was gone within minutes. Top Gun game and clothing was limited to 10 I think, obviously that went pretty quickly. That's just the nature of redeem code giveaways. People will complain about missing out but there's no way that everyone is going to be catered to when the time comes.

So you want in on the clan & your best "broadside" is "why don't you do something?"

Give up now,  for your information I DID DO SOMETHING. Way way back in the CLOSED beta days.

I, ALONG WITH A FEW OTHER LASSES (& more joined in on the day) held a protest in the ORIGINAL home square regarding the lack of decent female clothing items. The following TUESDAY (yes updates were on Tuesdays back then & Thursdays were maintenance days only) We got better items & the trend has continued to this day.:Sniper:

I do things that benefit the whole community (unseen via telephone to Sony & have done for years). Not via the "all pals clan" your trying to join (epic fail BTW) & now want me to be associated with by the sound of things (no chance thanks). I will also gladly try to aid anyone who needs help in home &/or PS3 home related issues wherever I can (NOT via this forum as I don't visit often) . Provided I get asked in the correct way (THAT'S POLITE MANNERS FROM THE START.  NO MANNERS, NO HELP! You have been warned). So guys n gals if your stuck & you do see me in home use the right words & I will do my very best to help if I can.

Going back to my original post, the last 1 I tried to get in on was in 2010 with my appalling communication skills (according to your suspicions) it was the PIRATE THEMED EVENT (BEING DRESSED AS A PIRATE & HAVING PIRATE IN MY ID) one would expect that "Hiya guys & gals 8-))" would get polite & "welcome" acknowledgement? I WAS OF COURSE, WRONG. SO DON'T TRY TO DEFEND THE UNDENIABLE! YOU WERE NOT THERE (unless of course your using a pseudonym)? In which case YOU hgwells,. Sir/Madam are a bare faced LIAR!!!

I have not bothered to look or see if any were held after that event as it was the final nail in the coffin for me.

As for not seeing me in home, LIKEWISE. I don't  "hang out" in "The Cattle market" AKA "Home Square."  Just bragging to anyone who will listen about how good I am at this that & the other, like certain clan members, & also because of the number of sad, lonely & in particular CHILDISH people who think I'm there to abuse & attempt to get banned by goading. When in truth I'm checking to see if there's anything new like beta codes etc., .:Stupid: So stick that in your pipe & SMOKE IT! :Ill:

THE END.
