Re: fams

Well to be honest there really is nothing you can do and harassing them only makes it worse. So for the long run, make freinds with the right people, get conections, know your limits and this sort of thing can be easily avoided. And what i mean by limits is time. after school hours and weekends youll find yourself freezing more than usual. I feel sorry for the people who work all day and have to come home to this. I sugest you invest in ps plus and get yourself some games to kill time instead.

I've switched over to The Sims 3 on my PC. I've been so addicted to it lately :smileysurprised:

Re: fams

Funny you say that Ducky, I was thinking of playing Spore again but then realised I'd lost my massive save from PC death a few months ago. Shame they never brought that to PS3, it's an amazing game.

@Ninja Assassin, so you're say these server-freezing ego-troopers are "the kinda folk you'd be glad to have on your side" then? I see where you're coming from so fair play for that angle.

No no NO. Anyone who freezes people/servers - wherever, whoever and for whatever reason - doesn't deserve to be on Home, end of story. :Samurai:

They dont deserve their PS3's or they deserve them to be turned into paperweights and put on a black list preventing them buying anymore

Re: fams

Considering people pay for a lot of the content (there are some who have probably gone as far as spending a couple of grand on Home over different regions) I'd like to think even the a-holes of those bunch that pay should be protected from freezing. They are paying customers after all. Fam, perv or not. If there is a social problem with these people there are other ways to deal with it :smileyhappy:

It's a real pity the moderation policy here isn't as firm on the freezers as it is in the US region. People caught freezing there get an instant console ban for it and I've recently heard that the mods are now telling users to report ANYONE in merged costumes over there whether they are freezing or not. If any EU mods are reading this, what exactly is the policy on freezing servers in EU? Will it result in a console ban if caught in the act? If that is the case perhaps an official word on here might discourage freezers from doing so in future.

On topic,

In my experience the kind of people that join fams only do so because they need to belong. Its a crutch for them to lean on because they lack the confidence to be an individual. The vast majority of fams do nothing but sqaubble with other fams or within their own ranks and when they arent doing that they are "recruiting". Its all playground stuff and I cant take people like this seriously.

Trini and Jester, I 100% agree with you guys. What I'm saying is; Y'know that massive guy in the corner of the pub with the shaved head and wonkey glass eye? Yeah, the one that was put away for knifing someone coz they spilled his pint that night, well he's "the kinda guy you'd be glad to have on your side". Put simply, sometimes it's better to tolerate these types rather than ruffle their feathers.

I'm not in anyway saying these people should be allowed to run around unfettered and free, freezing servers whenever their idea of foul play crops up, I'm saying if you come across one, don't throw your moral compass at them. Instead, humour or tolerate them if only to make your own life easier.

Re: fams

Do these freezers also freeze when they take the servers down, or can they somehow escape unscathed?

I wonder if the servers create a dump log when they crash that can be used to determine who was on the server at the time it froze.  If that is the case, then perhaps these lists of user ID’s can be compiled, which in turn can then be used to determine which ID’s are on servers the most when they go down.  If then same ID’s come up over and over, then one of two things can be determined.  Those user(s) are either very unlucky, or they may be the ones responsible.

No Krazy, I'm no fencesitter on this at all.

Freezers have my utter contempt and I'm not going to give them any respect at all just to stay on their good side and avoid being froze myself...they are a menace to the hardware we all pay for, and the tough NA Home rules should apply here in dealing with them.

Anyone who knows how to freeze needs to stop completly or suffer permanent bricking, no exceptions.
