Re: fams

The best thing Sony can do to deal with these Fams?

Get rid of the laugh animation.

Seriously, it's all they do. Make offensive comments and then overkill that animation. The comments can be muted and anything else they do (standing in your way/dancing/poses/ etc) is not at all irritating - but that laugh animation? That makes me want to drop kick them in the face.

Spend 5 minutes in the East shopping centre and you'll see the morons in their natural habitat. Making their racist/homophobic/sexist jokes and the bobbing for apples while pointing (thats what it looks like to me).

Get rid of that, leave them with the giggle one instead - lets see how stupid they look trying to be 'ard then.

As for the freezing ones, they are a much more serious problem and so difficult to report because of what they are doing. Luckily I don't tend to suffer them in the places I frequent (that and my ps3 likes to freeze on me a lot to tell me to get off and do something else all the time anyway so I wouldn't know which is which) so they're not a big problem for me.

Re: fams

The laugh is basically used as a front. They feel if they use it enough it will do a multitude of things, such as 1) Make them look less stupid 2) Make you look stupid 3) Hide their insecurity 4) Make it look like they find something funny that they don't just to blend in with other losers 5) They are confident 6) They are street

and the list goes on.

It's a shame really because now a seemingly harmless animation has become so associated with bullying in my mind that I now hate to see it, even people using it normally.

In fact, I hate it more than those crazy pool people hate the new pool tables. It's that strong

I'm glad the yes nod hasn't been hijacked yet. I use it a lot to let people know I'm listening to them lol

Re: fams

I agree with you on the laugh emote. I used to use it a lot but now i hate the site of it. It's so over used with these guys.

[ Edited ]

Every single thing they say then the laugh emote.. I guess they have to laugh cause no one else laughs with them just at them. Kinda gets tiresome after 30 seconds of it :smileyindifferent:

Re: fams

I use it, but only if I'm actually laughing so hard I can't type 'LMAO', which due to most convos with certain people on my list, happens to be quite frequent.

I'll apologise in advance...

Re: fams

My personal favorites are the goons who spam the laugh emote, and type (in capitals, naturally) "LMFAOOOOO I AM LAFFIN SOOOO HARD AT U HERE!!!" while they sit glum stoney-faced and glaze-eyed with a smoke of some sort protuding from their mouth in their messy, smelly bedrooms.

I don't need to see it to know. Now die a little inside and log off, hm?  :xCool:

Re: fams

It wouldnt be so bad if the laugh emote didn't look so fake and exaggerated, I mean who actually laughs like that anyway? Having said that, the vast majority of behaviour displayed by people on home bears little resemblance to how they would act in real life.
