Re: how about Sony selling the old pool table in ps store?

[ Edited ]

In fact lots of people have complained about the new tables. If you had bothered to actually read the threads you would see it's not because of an abject fear of change but because the new version of pool plays a lot worse than the previous iteration.

As I have said before, I would welcome a new pool game if it was an improvement over the old. That isn't the case in this instance. If you take the trouble to actually try the game you will see what I mean. Every man has a right to his own opinion, but no man has a right to be wrong in his facts.

Re: how about Sony selling the old pool table in ps store?

WOAHKAY!!! Caaalm pooey, if I didn't know any better I'd say YOU designed the damn game!

Badly implemented how exactly?

Ok well, for a start there's no guide line option for new and unfamiliar players. Not that I need guide lines myself but when making a tricky shot it'd be useful to switch on and off if you need to, rather than having to judge the distance and trajectory with bland textures. Secondly the physics just ain't right, I've seen a smashed white ball stop dead after a rebound with the cushion, rather than roll to where I want it to go. Also the method of of hitting the ball never worked properly and lacked precision. The camera controls were also extremely limited... Actually, there's a lot more but I'm not writing them all down here. Moving on...

Seriously? You're confused about how to play pool but you're going to lecture the pool players about how we're just whining eh? Lol...Ok here it is briefly, you're either stripes or spots...sink all your's then the 8 to win...don't hit the other players ball...don't sink the cue.

You'd be interested to see what they play like but you haven't. So you're trolling, got it.

I'm sorry, what!? At which point did I say I didn't know how to play pool? What I said was "there's no option for WHERE to hit the white ball" Maybe I need to clear this up for you. What I mean is, in REAL pool you can hit the white ball on it's side to spin it or change the angle of the ball about to be hit. Also by hitting the white ball on it's backside you can roll it backwards towards you, or make a very gentle strike on the next ball. Also hitting the white on its top side will give you extra force for a more powerful shot (and in extreme cases make the white ball jump other balls). These are known as 'Trick Shots' and they're impossible to pull off on the old Home pool tables since all of these options don't exist.

Yeah, umm 2 problems here. 1st, this isn't a disc game it's HOME and 2nd variable controls would be great...we don't have em for the bkwards controls in pool tho, so whats your point again?

My point Pooey, is that you're suffering from "I WANT IT MY WAAAY" syndrome. Instead of just re-learning the new controls for the game you love so dearly, you're on some kinda foolish mission to try to change the tables back to the way YOU like em. It's not going to happen. Developers do this ALL THE TIME, with nearly every game's sequel or reiteration and no single voice crying about how unfair it is that they have to re-learn their favourite game's controls on some forum will make a difference.

And before I go, I'll happily point out that I am not "ignorant" (I think GlassReaver wants a word with you for using that word) about pool at all thank you very much, I happen to enjoy the game, which is the fundamental reason I only played the tables in the bowling alley a few times; they didn't do the game justice, in fact they ruined it from the start (for reasons, see above). And leave Clare alone, she's just as entitled to her own opinion as you are.

Re: how about Sony selling the old pool table in ps store?

I suggest Mya..don't respond to trolls who are leaving insignificant and pointless messages..based upon lack of game play and lack of knowledge..

I read someone say that if we should deal with the new tables and basically shut up..

I say to those individuals...lets put everything in perspective and consider why we are dissatisfied and divorced ourselves from not playing on these awful pool tables designed by perhaps a bunch of new Sony creators..who lack on giving and providing loyal psn users with a full comprehensive rounded game.

I again say as a businessman who used to spend time not just on pool but in many of the other exciting and innovative rooms..I miss all my friends who are not to be seen anymore in the bowling alley primarily because they feel betrayed and disillusioned on why SOny would change such perfect dynamics and physics for ones which I can say have no baring on these new tables..

Its really doesn't make sense to me at all...if you have users who come in and spend money becuase they are happy and contended with one or more games and the change has inadvertently caused an uproar from across the globe...then I say Sony..listen to us Sony designers and atleast give us those certain criteria back in the game play..because the current mode of play sucks..

Mya<<hope all is well with you..im off to brighton beach..going to flex me muscles there...lol

tc GODBLESS YOU ALL.especially claremac90>>90 refers to the IQ..LOL

Did you even read the answers to the questions you asked me?

Coz from where I'm standing, you seem to be the "ignorant troll" here.

And yet you are attacking Clare for doing this... a bit hypocritical dont you think?

And its only the same thing over and over and over again. We get it you dont like the new tables we get the point but do you have to harp on and on and on about it??

*Waits for the attacks to roll in*

This thread needs locking. Too much bad blood on here at the moment. Think everyone here needs to agree to dissagree to be honest and all this bickering amongst yourselves isn't going to get you anywhere. Oh and pooey maybe you should take a look at our house rules
