ok, so this guy on youtube wants to give away home beta to 5 people? how can he manage this...and is it allowed?? read his description. i didnt think it was...

Of course it is not allowed, no NDA I have ever seen would allow that. But it seems that the betas is mainly guarded by keys you get to download stuff off the PSN Store, and the PSN Store allows you to use your downloads on up to 5 or 6 different PS3s. And it might not be something that is easy for Sony to track unless they code in some special support for tracking cases like this into PSN.

 

Alternatively they could lock downloads to a specific PSN user, like XBL seems to do. But that has problems of itself, at least if it is used for anything other that just closed betas.

Its not allowed and it doesnt work either. Its not like PSStore games you can share, Home Closed Beta is tied to a specific account at the access level. In other words he'd be able to share it a few other people but when they ran it it simply wouldnt connect.

Obviously everything will change in Open Beta but why would you share a free download?
