Just because other people decide to ignore you,  it doesn't mean they think they're better. I sometimes do that myself when I'm having a conversation with a friend and some idiot walks to me and starts shouting "English, please" just because I'm speaking my own language and like it's something of his/her business. Then the occasional insults follow up, of course...  Can't they take a hint? Maybe I don't want to be interrupted and/or don't have to talk to them even if they think otherwise.

If people ask for help in a polite way, then yes, I talk to them.

i am sure half of the times people dont answer cause there too lazy to type!, its just a pain typing all the time!

I reconize there are a lot of haughtly people lurking at Home (a lot of them are coming from english forums). They should stop their pre-puber identity crisis and open their mind. But do not care about those people dude, they are at Home what they are not in real life. =)

Someone said that I don't reply quick enough to there comments but its hard for me to reply when there so much going on in the screen at the one time, its harder for me to read everything because of my Nystagmus.

If you spam me with hello i just not listen and block, if you don't speak english i try and translate but often people won't wait and run off .

If you ask me for answers constant i just block you. 

If you just come up to me when them talking with friends and say LOL i will block you. I was not talking to you . 

If people say hi or heyia or hey i think hmmm this person wants to try and talk to me. Also being asked how i got stuff constant it annoying i will tell people but after the 100th am a little annoyed.

Bottom line is people often don't think they are better then you but could be busy i know am messing around on the laptop when am home so am often slow to type back. Or we are talking to friends and don't want people to randomly join in. 

I will often be friendly with people once i got inivted into a killzone 2 clan after i started to talk to somebody on home. 

I have some very good chats in home.

One more thing could be random people running up to you and adding.

Like so many others I could be having a conversation with a group of people when a random person will show up with the "How did you get that?" question. I'll politely answer if asked in a certain manner but if someone comes up running around me saying Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello and so on I might have a little fun with them. Bit of entertainment that does no harm.

I wont ignore anyone though and I have helped quite a lot of people by providing whatever information I know. Hell just this morning at around 3am or so I had just got home and jumped in to check the Reaper leaderboards to see if any of my friends had toppled me from 3rd in the friends list. As some of you know I was lucky enough to get the trousers so people were curious as to how they could get them too.

I simply provided them with the information and a few tips for getting their scores up since they were hitting 30-50k and couldn't figure out where they were going wrong. I spent a good hour then talking about this, that and everything while the group of people grew when they caught a little of the conversation. There was none of the Hellos or Where are you froms... it was all just casual conversation with a bunch of people I've never met before. Some were newbies, some had been around a while but my point is that I didn't just ignore them like they were nothing.

We all have to start somewhere and there are numerous reasons as to why I don't answer people. Sometimes I might've just left for a second. Providing that Back soon doesn't show up for at least a minute of inactivity someone could be talking away to me, thinking I'm ignorant in not answering and then walk away. So it's notthat people think so highly of themselves that they don't have time for anyone but their friends... it's simply a matter of what that person is doing or as pointed out earlier, what language they speak.

When I'm faced with someone talking to me in another language I don't have the time to go search up and translate everything and then translate an answer. Unfortunately, languages aren't my best quality and I only speak English with a few words in Irish and French but mainly just the basics. I'll simply say that I'm sorry but I don't speak (insert language) in the hope that they'll understand. It's not that I don't want to answer, it's the fact that I haven't got a clue about what they're saying to me.

That being said, I have had many conversations with some of the French users of both these boards and Home.
