i noticed alot then when you hold the mic button (R2) you can see your psn id above your character and the mic icon. after a couple minutes it dissapears and i think it stops the mic. you have to let go and push it again and hold? is there some kind of limit?

Maybe it has silence detection? I've never held down my R2 button unless I was speaking.

Dunno.  Mine disappears immediately.

when i hold down R2 nothing happens for me. i've only just connected my headset and no-one can hear me when i've tried talking to them.

Are both voice and text enabled?

lots of weird issue with mics.. but it i still beta i guess. sometime it works, sometimes it doesnt... then works again. i was talking to some guy and had a long conversation with him on mic. then later on i seen him, i couldnt hear him but he said he was talking on the mic. then he couldnt hear me... also some times next to certain ppl you can hear yourself talking.. like an echo delay after 3 seconds. weird stuff.

The echo is from bad headsets with microphones that pick up everything, not just the voice of the wearer.
