ps home bowling alley&pool tables

As we are all well aware of the new changes to ps home squares and other fantastic rooms,I was surprised and upset that the new pool hall tables have been subjected to a few changes which have resulted in games being played longer due to the facts that sony have removed the options of the pool breaks which were truly magnificent in that in really put the cat amongst the pidgeons when it came to pool masters...and how they manipulated the white ball.

Since the recent changes to the pool games the breaks are non existent which is a real shame...why has this happened and why have sony completed and uterly ruined the enjoyment of the breaks??

ANOTHER point I'd like to mention is because of the new changes the person's Avatar's ARE clear to be seen as b4 in front on the pool tables and this hampers the game in a big way...

Last but not least..the new texting system is ok but the older system was much better...as you could at least have a banter with other's whilst chatting...the new PM'S are again to reitterate kool but these changes did not need to be implemented.

CAN I MODERATOR PLEASE EXPLAIN THESE SILLY CHANGES TO ME???

Re: ps home bowling alley&pool tables

Agreed, not quite sure why the changes were made to pool. The physics are a bit different, and the overhead view now shows the shadow of the cue on the target at all times. Overall, the game is a bit less challenging. As Pooey mentioned the breaks have been changed and as such, one cannot reliably sink a given ball on break (results are sporadic at best).

Why was the change made to show avatars again standing right next to the table? Why were we downgraded? It was fine before this update, but now the "deadspace" around the tables has been removed and once again people can interfere with gameplay.

In addition, there used to be a ps controller icon next to the name of  the person in the chat log whom you were playing with. Now with the all white text, it's difficult to tell whom you're playing and carry on a conversation with them.

I thought the implementation of the queue system last year was bad (in regards to preventing people from playing their friends), things are worse now. Perhaps next we could receive an update that will auto aim for us and that would be more fair to the noobs who complain the game is too hard. Then whoever shoots 1st wins...fair for all.

What I find funny is that one of the guy's that work for nDreams said that the last thing they want and what the public wants is to queue in a 3D world because it's bad enough doing it in the real world!

And they are hoping to convince (i think, don't quote me on that) Sony to scrap waiting for a game and let 64 players play at once. "Instead of 62 players waiting for a game"

Re: ps home bowling alley&pool tables

Gonna have to say queuing's gotta go. The best solution is to offer a venue which lets the max amount of users play at any given time. It's been proven that people can jump queues as it is, and that to me just seems a bit...pooey, shall we say :smileyhappy:

While I agree, no one wants to queue - the system itself is far better than having to wait for something to become available and then pressing the X button as fast as you can to be first onto it. Just look at the latest LBP game...

The queue system just needs a bit of tweaking. Group queuing, for example, would be fantastic!

If we could increase game-slots per game, that would obviously be the ultimate solution but all the convincing in the world from nDreams won't achieve anything without the finance behind it to maintain server load. Maybe for nDreams' spaces this will become a reality, but throughout Home, I sincerely doubt it :smileysad:

Re: ps home bowling alley&pool tables

I totally agree with everyone about the white wall of txt. Before you could easily pick out your conversation from others because everyone had their individual txt colours. It was far more eye catching. Now at a glance, it's harder to distinguish your chat, and your friend/acquaintance's chat from others.

My other issue is that pool has become very glitchy. Several times I've wanted to play a game, spotted a completely empty table but have still been requested to queue. Occasionally you're waiting in a long queue just for people playing solo to wrap up a game with themselves, because for some strange reason no one can join them. The other day I strolled into the bowling complex to see 5 out of the 6 tables either empty or with solo players but there was still a sizable queue.

Also another recently bug I've noticed when playing pool is that my opponent gets several extra turns when they shouldn't.

E.g. They break - no balls potted - they get another turn - misses another ball - they get another - my turn.

Re: ps home bowling alley&pool tables

I've just recently come back to Home and I simply HATE the new chat system. As mentioned before, it's hard to pick out your convo from all the others due to all the white. And personally I feel there is no need for the [PM] option. if you want a private chat is that not what your personal spaces are for? I feel there will be A LOT more people getting reported for abusing the [PM].

Haven't played pool yet so no opinion on that subject lol

Re: ps home bowling alley&pool tables

Please keep feedback on specific topics to the correct threads. This thread was created for feedback on the bowling alley and pool tables.

There's a separate thread with a good discussion on the revised chat log, including responses from myself following discussions I've had with the dev team.
