Freezing in HOME a lot!

[ Edited ]

Ok i have had my fair share of problems in home, who hasnt. But this.... This is beyond a joke. Home locks up my console when i try to load a space and locks up my console when i am in the wardrobe.. This has never happend this many times before i have counted 12 times in 1 hr..

Sony how about FIXING PROBLEMS!!!! Hmmm??

I have spent more time looking at the repairing HDD cache screen than any actual home content :smileyindifferent: Yeah what a joke

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

I am very angry right now. I just got kicked from PS Home with a D3505 error, and when I tried to log in I first got a D35 error, then on my second attempt a Z error, and then on my third and fourth attempt the error 'unable to download content' or something like that. Now every time I try to start PS Home my entire PS3 freezes and I have to recover my system. I cannot get past the main 'Playstation Home BETA' screen anymore.

I deleted PS Home entirely, but to no avail. It is definitely not my internet connection. I am tired of these errors. If PS Home keeps damaging my PS3, I will never use it again. I'd rather not have a weekly update before the errors are finally fixed!

So Sony, why not hire some extra staff to find and fix the errors? Or at least recognize that there are problems on Home, so far we've been kept in the dark.

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

I had this the other week, I spent more time watching the HDD cache repairing screen when entering home then I'd care to look at.  I'm not sure what caused it but home would lock up the moment I entered forcing a reset and then the repair screen again... It was a viscous circle.

The only thing I did was deleted home and  the game data as well, then reinstalled Home with a smaller cache size and so far (touch wood) I've not had the problem repeat itself.

I just did what you said, I deleted my save data (fortunately I often back-up it, so I could replace it with a back-up of a week ago) and it worked. I am now online again.

I noticed that the Script Settings file was modified the last before the complete crash, but I haven't been in any spaces where it could have been modified. Is PS Home corrupting this file the cause of the problem then? Anyway, I have send an error report to Sony. Hopefully they can fix this soon.

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

I'm having the same problems today. I went to the casino to get my weekly 100 chips and before the digital leisure management message vanished (about the slots problem) I got booted off home with a D5021 error. I tried to reload and now it locks up my console on the startup screen where the home logo has the bar that loads. Ive deleted and reinstalled home and its still doing it. I guess I'll have to delete my home save data now and see if that works (thanks for the tip Midg3t).

This really is pretty poor though. Its not even like its isolated either as a few people on my list have been effected by this over the weekend. It seems these technical issues seem to crop up every month now and effect large parts of the community. If you cant get your software to run properly Sony, dont charge for content within it or how about you actually DO some server maintenance for once and not just add premium crap to fleece the paying punters with each week.

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

Sorry for the double post but deleting the script settings seemed to fix my problem. Thanks to Anko and Midg3t for the advice.

*Sigh* Teess for the last time it is not glitching that is causing these errors. Glitching has been around since Day one of home and the errors haven't been this bad. So you saying that it is the glitching that is causing these errors is an invalid argument

I'd blame the freezers that go around freezing servers before I would blame the glitchers. Freezing a server would have an impact on how it works and thus lead to the errors we are all getting. I get the fact you don't like glitches you have made that point all to well that you loath them. But blaming glitchers for the problems doesn't make sense. Now the people that freeze servers I would put it on them, behind the scenes all there server freezing is disrupting some code or information that home needs to function properly. Think about it, Server freezes became more prevalent and we all started seeing more and more errors. But glitching has been around since day one and the errors weren't this bad at all.

Anyway back on topic. I had to do an 11 and a half hour restore of my entire system and it seems home is ok for the moment.

Apologies for the mini rant there

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

A full system restore is a little over the top for PlayStation Home not working.

In fact its kina pointless since a qucker way to troubleshoot the problem would be to uninstall/delete Home and delete all Home related save data (after backing it up) from the console. Then install Home and try it again.

Should that fail make sure your home network isnt causing the troubles and if your confident that its not then work your way down the standard PS3 troubleshoot list. There's several items on the list and its recommended you do them in order. Full system restore is the very last thing you should do.

Re: Freezing in HOME a lot!

It wouldnt boot up properly and was freezing on the xmb not just home, hence the restore. i deleted home and reinstalled it didnt fix the problem the restore did and i havent had a freeze since. I wouldnt waste 11 hours on a restore just for home.... It was the entire Ps3
