Re: UFC still not working for me :/

right so we pay 4 a apartment that doesn't work so we should sit back and say nothing ?? .. hmmmmm i dont think so , we got every right to complain and the main problem is the lack of info and general customer services , i was happy with the reply that they got on the US forum , but 4 nothing 2 be said on our forum shows a lack of respect from Sony towards their customers , and as 4 Beta i am fed up with that card being dealt ever time something goes wrong . A simple sorry and the matter is being looked into would have been suffice .

I'm not saying don't complain. I'm just saying that until the day customer/technical support are the ones actually doing the work you want done, it will not achieve anything. All you are doing is adding more calls their database pending mass closure when the issue is finally fixed.

The main problem is not lack of information and general customer services; it is lack of communication between the developers and moderation team and region moderators between themselves, which ultimately affects the communication from the region moderation team to the customers.

It is possible, however unlikely, that the EU moderation team was not informed as to what was being posted on the US forum in regards to the UFC errors, hence why we did not recieve the same message.

So while you may still call this a "lack of respect" you should note that it is not intended but rather caused by unfortunate circumstances.

As for the Beta tag. The reason SCE have kept Home in beta for so long is so that they have an excuse everytime something goes wrong. Its more convenient for them. Personally, I'd rather to have Home in beta with an open beta agreement rather than have the usual "This software is provided as is..." agreement because the open beta is much more flexible.

Re: UFC still not working for me :/

So how much are SCEE paying you then GoodBytes? Exactly Mr know it all, your clearly one of the sheep & not leadership material. Obviously its a mainframe error otherwise what I told my friend to do would have solved the issue. It's also very bad when a fellow psn forum user has to post the link to a USA official post regarding the issue. Funny how in our high speed high tech world, LACK OF COMMUNICATION IS TO BLAME from SONY a so called MEDIA BUSINESS TOO. Get real it's called too damned lazy to check or make a phone call. It's been an issue since it's release. So go on people RING RING RING & PESTER PESTER PESTER. After all if you DON'T TRY, you sure as hell WON'T GET.

Or you can be a sheep like GoodBytes & just roll over & take YET ANOTHER GOOD BEATING :Sniper:

BETTER STILL GIVE ME THE JOB SONY, I'LL GLADLY spend 8 hrs a day researching info for the psn public what's it worth £100k or is that too cheap?

Re: UFC still not working for me :/

If you pay for an apartment  ( goods) you enter into a term of contract Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and under the Supply of Goods and Services  Act 1982 if the goods services are in breach of that act ie the services goods are not of a satistfactory quality then you are due a replacement or a full refund. Sony or THQ cannot hide behind terms and conditions that illegally put them from responsibilty to their customers.

Re: UFC still not working for me :/

Yes very well said Mystique & to support that here's one for you to think about.

You buy a brand new car, get it delivered, you get in it & it wont start, Hmmm??? (or words to that effect) "I want it fixing now or a replacement please."

"I'm sorry Sir/Madam but its not covered under warranty, please read the terms & conditions you signed. It clearly states that the warranty expires upon delivery."

Yeah right,"I'll see you in court." would be any NORMAL PERSON's response.

This is true, however, you did not pay for a good but rather a service. All the items purchased on the PlayStation®Network are classified as services.

Sony Computer Entertainment operates in many different countries with many different laws and so while the "Sale of Goods Act of 1979" you specified may apply to your country it wont to others. Yes I am aware that other counties have their own "Sale of Goods Acts".

But this does not change the fact that you do not actually own the objects you are buying from PSN. You are buying the right the use the particular service provided by SCE.

EDIT:

SCE is not hiding behind their Terms of Service and User Agreement. In fact, section 16 (Warranty Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability) says "...you may have other legal rights as a consumer which are not affected by these Conditions." So if you purchased the UFC space and are not happy with it you can apply for a refund; however the approval of such a refund is at SCE's discretion.

LOL.

You obviously do not know how PlayStation®Home works. There are three (3) main components to the Home System (1) the servers which host the application, (2) the client installed on your PS3 consoles, and (3) the user save data saved in your local profile.

The saved data on your local profile (e.g. settings, script settings, apartment configurations, etc) will not cause this error because it is clearly a client-server problem. Your local saved data provides only a reference to certain aspects of Home such as your local settings, avatar appearance and apartment configurations. The UFC spaces do NOT use the "script settings" file. I have verified this by looking at the "last modified" time stamp on the file. It's date precedes that of the UFC space release. All points are stored on the server which could be the cause of the errors.

Its not a "mainframe" issue because the UFC spaces function correctly for some users. If it was a mainframe issue no one would be able to access Home let alone the UFC spaces.

As I have said before, I believe this issue is caused by the UFC application not being able to process millions of concurrent users. This is a client-server problem.

Re: UFC still not working for me :/

OK Mr smarty pants, my friend has more than 1 account , yet only 1 account is affected on her ps3 & yes all settings etc etc are identical on both accounts with the obvious exception of the ID's.

You've managed to point out everything it is not & the your reasons, but since I HAVE ALREADY TESTED,  PROVED & POSTED  that they were NOT THE FAULT your exploitations are both shallow & 9 DAYS TOO LATE!  I obviously do know how the system works you patronising tw@  (even a 5 year old  understands suppler, host, client triangles)  otherwise I would have suggested my friend wiped her HDD & started again. We tried everything that Sony tech Dept advise  on such issues, I wanted to save her time & money on a call ALONG WITH ANYONE ELSE THINKING OF WASTING TIME & MONEY.

It's not client/sever issue being OVERLOADED either. OTHERWISE IT WOULD BE RANDOM & EVERYONE WOULD BE AFFECTED from time to time. Your starting to bore me with your cow pat THEORIES now especially as you waited for me to post about things we've tried  & failed with, before you posted your comments to try look clever. YES I'M PROBABLY WRONG TOO (but then how many mainframes are there?  If more than 1, then its a possibility all affected accounts are held on same 1?), (PLEASE DO TELL US ALL GOODBYTES or are you waiting for Sony to tell us all first so you can try yet again to claim superior knowledge) but enough THEORIES your missing the point.

LACK OF COMMUNICATION FROM SONY COMPUTER  ENTERTAINMENT EUROPE. Where's the ENTERTAINMENT for the affected?

Do us all a favour & go troll another thread cos as per usual troll speak you got nowt to say & your saying it too loud "GOODBYTES" SAYS IT ALL. THE END:Sniper:

Allow me to clarify:

I am not claiming superior knowledge nor am I suggesting, directly or indirectly, that I have all the answers. I am simply posting my views and theories on this topic based on my experience and knowledge. I am not asking anyone to agree with me.

Many people have no idea how the backend of the technologies they use work hence why give the Home client/server explanation.

I would also like to risk pointing out that what you said:

is exactly what is occuring. While I would not say overloading as such, the effects are random and everyone is affected. Sometimes it works and sometimes it dosent. Its a matter of chance; and when there is approximatly 9 million people using home at any one time the odds of UFC working or not working for anyone 100% of the time are very small.

In regards to the comments about the lack of communication. As a former consultant I have seen many organiational departments who do not communicate with each other efficiently enough. Even with email, IM and telephones available. This is the reason I suggested that lack of communication could be why the EU forum was not updated with the information the US forum recieved.

I apologise if I appear to be trolling this thread, as this is not my intention. I'm just giving everyone food for thought; rather than sit back and watch as people harp on about how badly they are being treated.
