Ok, so Xi has finished and what a ride it has been. Obviously Xi meant something different to everyone. Me, I never really used Home before Xi as there wasn’t a lot to keep me interested, I don’t have a load of friends with a PS3 so most of the time it was talking to random strangers that I didn’t have much in common with but as soon as Xi came along that changed. I have met so many weird and wonderful people along the way which enhanced this journey so much (you know who you are) but my point is that Xi meant something different to everyone………
What really hit it home was just before the last fragment came I met someone (name omitted) who asked me what the code was and when I told her that I don’t give out codes only clues she explained that she was only doing Xi for her friend who was dying of cancer and wanted to complete it before passing away. She seemed very genuine and I had a good chat about life and the universe but her story seemed very real and proved to me that Xi was more than just a game to some people, it was an achievement, a goal. I have thought about this a lot since. I have enough faith in the human race to believe that this wasn’t a lie (or a gary) so if you read this I hope your friend passed happily dreaming of stapler and co, knowing that Xi was finally solved.
This is what I loved about Xi it brought a lot of people together who would never have met otherwise and gave us all a common interest to bloom friendships from.
There has been lots of threads thanking nDreams and SCEE for this thing we lovingly called ‘Xi’ so this is my thank you. It has been great. A true experience and we shall never forget it………….
