Steve's next great game. Seeking thoughts.

Ok. This has two purposes.

First of all, I'm going to run something akin to an ARG! Based on the test run I did a few weeks back (The Hunt for Advitar) this will be a longer running, plot-driven game with puzzles and mystery for all! Begin being interested now!

Hopefully it'll start in a few weeks time, maybe a month, so start spawning interest!

Second, I could do with thoughts and maybe some help on one or two.

To start with, thoughts of the method of checking answers? The way I did it before, was that the final code would be added to a URL link, which would lead to a page confirming the code and providing a banner for people to confirm their progress. The only flaws I saw here were a) the awkwardness of all the URLs and b) people would get banners showing their advancement as being further along than it actually is. Those who'd solved puzzle 3 but not puzzle 2 still had the banner showing themselves at being past puzzle 3. Not perfect. So I was thinking if there was some way to program a web page for the entry of codes which would keep track of ALL a person's progress, perhaps with multiple fields for entry (one per puzzle requiring a code) and a system to remember which a person has already entered. I don;t actually know how to do this, as I really don't know much about web programming. What do people think about this? Do you know how it can be done? Can you do it for me? Can you think of a better idea?

The second thing I wanted thoughts on was Home. Now all the puzzles from 'The Hunt for Advitar' resulted in a run around Home, and was quite Home based. Thats how I kept it relevant around here and Xi-like. The trouble is that since moving house recently my internet connection has been so bad that I can't get on home, and getting on PSN at all has become a slow and annoying process. I still want to keep things tied to Home though (otherwise it's really not a console ARG at all, and doesn't fit around here either!). So I would need someone with a better connection than me to come onboard and help out in the respect. I've got the story written, and I've got the vast majority of puzzles worked out, but what I'd really need is someone with better access to Home to hunt around it and find certain elements within to use as codes (number of things in this place, this number of a poster, etc). Anyone interested in helping with that? Or do you have better ideas to solve this dilemma? ***** Sky for a poor internet connection? Or is it my wireless router's fault? (It's not. I know about the problems with Sky and PSN).

So. Thoughts? Opinions? Regurgitation?

Anyway:
