The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle #4 *Possible Spoilers*

This one is fairly hard. The answer is one word, which has a strong Greek link again. Clues may come if people struggle too much. Ready? "Pat cat. Do not beat it. Sit down. Did you sit? Let it go. Got that pet?"

Re: The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle #4 *Possible Spoilers*

So....

I'm listenin', but I ain't hearin'.

Anybody got any ideas?

My only thought is that each little bit forms a syllable of whatever the word is. So whatever "Pat cat" is, is the first syllable and so on. Of course if I'm wrong I'm just heading down an endless tunnel that stretches to infinity...

The 'listen' clue has done nothing for me at all :smileyindifferent:

You are wrong, The "listen" clue is much more help than it seems.

Re: The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle #4 *Possible Spoilers*

I'm a bit stumped.

For a moment I started thinking of the consenants, and relating them to Greek terms or names? I saw/heard a LOT of 'T's in there, and thought the first part might have been close to the name PATROCLUS (Achilles friend/lover) but that didn;t quite work out, especially as the answer is a one word thing.
