Re: The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle Thread *Possible Spoilers*

Yep, me too. I did it slightly wrong first because I accidentally did +Θ instead of -Θ which obviously gave the wrong answer. However, it still gave a whole number and it was also a palindrome just like the correct answer, which I thought was a nice little coincidence.

I'm such a geek sometimes :smileyhappy:

Yes, Benjap's answer is correct, and I'll happily post a quick walkthrough at about 7pm BST so everyone has time to complete it if they want. If anyone wants to post a new puzzle here feel free, otherwise I might design one to be released with the walkthrough.

Re: The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle Thread *Possible Spoilers*

It is a little early, but I reckon most have done it by now - if not, ignore this post. To solve the above puzzle, first find the values for the greek letters, and insert them into the equations. Solving them using basic maths rules will give you a numerical answer in decimal. Convert this into binary for the final answer (posted by Benjap above). So, anybody up for a second puzzle? This is a little harder, so I'll post a clue if people struggle with it. You'll know if you get the right answer as well. So, given B=5, V=23 and Y=39, what is represented by 15.53.68.53.16//11.15.53?

Re: The Post-Xi Forumite Puzzle Thread *Possible Spoilers*

@NoResistance - I haven't a clue on this new one -  however thats not why i am posting.

Any new puzzle should be started in a new thread to be more obviously visible - so that people will know that its there.

Perhaps in the subject format "Puzzle #<puzzlenumber> <puzzlename>"

and could be marked as [solved] after the solution is published in the thread.
