Hi All,
So FUBAR is now out in the EU and over time it would be great to get your feedback
Those who like it, glad you like it and please reply to let me know what you do like about it. I must again point out one of the points of FUBAR is that is a game you make part of your daily routine, you jump on for 5/10 minutes do the daily defence mission, visit your friends, do an exploration mission and then go off somewhere else and have more fun in home. That is how it has been designed.
For those who don't like it, or didn't get to the end of the tutorial it would be really great to know why. The social game style isn't for everyone which I understand so for me, it would be great to have exact reasons as to why you haven't / won't continue(d) with the game.
- Do you not like the Tower Defence or Base Management Genres
- Do you prefer something you can sink hours into at one time
- Art Style
- Rewards
Anything specific would be great, "i don't like the game, its rubbish" doesn't really help me too much and it will certainly help when we look at doing things in the future. And if there are quick things we can change to make it more appealing to a big majority then that is also something we can look at.
Joey
Hi Joey,
For me mate, games like this will never hold any appeal to me in somewhere like Home which is extremely limited an badly broken a lot of the time. The game itself could be quite good but you can't control all the outside problems,of which there are many,in the Home environment and ultimately those issues will always prevail from what we ALL know of Home.
A few people have said on here before that its the more simplistic games that work on Home, not trying to recreate a real disc game but things like some of Midways(the simplistic aspect more for them though) or the Audi ones which were quite fun, hell even the Helicopter game from the 1st square was fine for a 10 minute blast. Although not everyone thinks that way an indeed they certainly won't be many agree with me here but you wanted honest opinions so heres mine.
Games like this one seem to me,to be catering more for people that have very little to do. Not really the type of game you can't wait to get home to play an shove in your console as it were like the one im eagerly waiting on in 4 days time when its released. You can only make what your market wants though an if thats what the majority want here so be it,an i truly wish you every success either way. I think its great your so vocal with the community here an long may that continue!
So with no offence to you Joey (i hope lol) its just not my cup of tea and unless Home was rebuilt from the ground up,i don't see how it ever could be.
Don't worry,most posts won't be like mine!
Hiya Joey ^^ well you already know my verdict , but i'll share with the community
So far i like the game , its simplicity at its best :catvery-happy:
it's ok that the game was intendend to be a daily routine thing , with a quick gameplay , then back to what we all usually do :catwink:
This is the part you wont like :cattongue: :
only thing i do not like so far, that i do not like at all, is the fact road spaces costs war funds , in other words it costs real money :catmad:
I understand , that yous have to implement a way to get some revenue, since to run servers and to create and maintain the game does cost money
So i dont mind buying the more advanced buildings with war funds, and i also like how yous give us an option to spen war cash , or points to get a building. but paying real money for roads :catsad: shame on nDreams
you give us the option to use points on other deco items, y not the roads
Spending War Funds should only be on the following which you guys have already in the game
Also i sometimes arrive at a deserted space , which i have already discussed with you before, but recently i been arriving in the clouds n falling o.O could be just my internet, no biggie for now
I will continue to play it, but would very much apreciate if you could pass on my request , to make it so that we can use points on roads , not just war funds.
thnx joey :catwink:
OMG what an ugly forum avatar face i have o.O grr how do i change it
Edit: nevermind, i was able to change it hehe
Just one 'small' piece of feedback
I can't seem to find a way to increase the size of the very tiny text in game and it's annoying having to scooch my mose up to the screen to read all the squiggles
Thanks guys :)
gnu, are you on a standard definition TV? I've heard a couple of people playing in SD having the same issue.

They still make those? :smileysurprised:

Wouldn't know retro - at a guess I would say probably not.
I just own them when silly people throw their things away because they prefer to give up hours of their life to purchase more new stuff to replace the old perfectly working stuff a telly advert told them not to like anymore. I've saved myself ££10's of thousands over the years from having basic sparky and chippy skills.
I'll probably upgrade when I find some eejit who'd rather work a month of overtime than get a soldering iron out to fix a faulty scart socket (I'll be sitting on the beach in the meantime :smileyhappy: )
It's an ok game for me personally I don't see what the hype was you was trying to make.
The game controls aren't bad until you come to place things like barracks down, it should have a rotate option and the road placements should be available when you start not half way through.
I do like the practice missions though it does give you something to do if you've used up your 3 visits to friends bases. Oh and I like how everytime you enter you get points.
However that being said I had to laugh when I saw one of your objectives ( Buy a War Buck ) now I think that's a stoop to low to be honest.
Overall the game is ok and would see myself popping back there but not constantly.
One thing to say with FUBAR. You can get to level twenty without buying any War Bucks :-)
I like the game and enjoy the fact its a quick 5-10 mins thing (prob becuz there are others 1s out there on my to do list & wud rather not have another).I dont usually like these type of games but with it being as simple as it was when i went through the tutorial etc i found the game the be quite easy to get the hang of so.
Echoing what other posts have been put the only things tht im not so keen on is not being able to rotate your buildings which surely is a must if you want to but time into creating your base how you want it,also the road tiles only being war bucks as lets face it again if your looking at creating your own base and want to put time & effort in your gonna use a fair few road tiles which would be rather expensive, apart from tht impretty happy with what it is & tht challenge of getting 1,500,000 points is gonna be a grind lol
Sorry for the double but by the time i remember this the editing time had passed, i have noticed tht for a while now i have stoped get the extra points you get when you re enter the space when you've been away, Have you heard of this happening at all Joey?
Seeing as no one has posted the rewards yet, I'll just put which ones I've gotten so far. All of them seem to be unlocked after completing a certain challenge:
I have no idea how I got the last one. It's been nowhere near a month!
EDIT: Just found another one that may cause a few people to groan:

^ This is probably my only issue with the game. I think it's quite important to be able to see who you're fighting or what you're buying because I have made a few mistakes already.
Just a few questions:
- Will all of the special units cost war bucks?
- Is/will there be any way to gain war bucks other than purchase using real money?... and if not, does that mean you have to buy your way to 100% completion?
I don't really mind it being a "daily game" because I can just plonk it onto my list with the Trap-O-Matic, fossil digging and the Casino. Overall, I am enjoying the game and am eager to reach level 20.
Keep up the good work :smileywink:

It say different days not 30 different day so I guess playing base defence 30 over a couple of days is what unlocked it.
There's also an atom scrambler lamp for 17. Big Bucks - buy a war buck.
...but what's even stranger is that I've only played a total of 24 base defence missions
Oh well, I can't complain with a free reward :smileyhappy:
Totally agree with every +/- mentioned so far. I'd like to add the fact that progress is so slow. Mission SET 2 start @ 24hrs & longest ones are 72hrs :No-no:
Roll on mission SET 3, I can't wait. 1 week to a month each by sounds of it at current rate?
People can actually play this???
Everytime I try I get "Server error, please try again later"
Is this just me then??? I haven't even been able to play it once lol

I haven't really had the chance to play this yet but i like the sound of it. I'm guessing that you have to buy premium coins to buy things like the war buck?

Yes Vicki, the War Bucks are the in-game currency (like Hellfire Coins, etc) which you have to pay for if you want them.
There's one of the objectives that I don't understand. I think it's #23 - Upgrade all units to max in a base defence mission and win but how exactly do you upgrade your units?
^^ yeah this...?
figure it's an upcoming feature or something requiring war bucks to achieve.
Also, shame there's not a objective that requires you to defend your base using only one type of weapon (opposed to using one of every type as there already is)
Using nothing but machine guns (or mortars) to mow down errythang is chaotic fun fun fun. (A lot like destroying peoples villages in age of empires using nothing but elephants, and having them complain about it being cheap while they get slaughtered....or possibly a zerg rush)
