Introducing PlayStation Home Developer Week

Untitled-1.png

Greetings Home community, as you may be aware Home is about to hit it's 4th anniversary since going into Open Beta on December 11th 2008. Some of you have been around since then, others are newer to the community but we're all here for the same thing. We all use Home.

To celebrate this 4th anniversary I have managed to arrange a week full of Q&A nights with some of the developers who bring content to us each and every week. Allowing us to show our uniqueness in a large community such as this.

I have dubbed it Developer Week for this reason and have been working for a few weeks to bring the following to you on these dates and times!

Monday 10th December - 8pm

Tuesday 11th December - 8pm

Wednesday 12th December - 8pm

Thursday 13th December - 8pm

Friday 14th December - 8pm

Saturday 15th December - 8pm

Sunday 16th December - 7pm

(as part of the regular meetup)

Because there are so many of these in the week I would like to make it as easy as possible for everyone to get their questions asked and answered. To do this, I would like to ask for your help in achieving this. If you can keep it to one question per user until everyone has had the opportunity to be heard that would be ideal.

I would also like to ask if you can try not to flood the chat log so that questions and answers wont be missed. I do understand like the rest of you that events like this are easy to get a little carried away. So I'm asking you as a user myself to show respect to those in attendance including our guests on the night.

Some of our esteemed guests may bring along a few treats too. ;)

Unfortunately I can't control how many people can fit into a space at any one time so if you can't get in, don't give up and keep trying. If I could double the space I would to avoid disappointing any of you!

Other than that, hope you all like what I've put together for the week and look forward to seeing you all there.

If you do wish to attend, please send a friend request to my alternate account:

MVP-Loonytoon

Or even my lil helper:

IAmNinjaRabbit

I will be checking it regularly and accepting requests as I see them. All are welcome.

Good to see you're all looking forward to it! It came about following the success of the Hallowe'en Event and the time seemed right with the end of the year and the Home anniversary. Hopefully find out what's coming up in the near future amongst other things!

As an extra little bonus, Hellfire Games will be turning the Spacewalk function in Novus Prime on for next weekend. This will be free to use for all.

I'll try to remember to attend. Can't believe I've been using Home for 4 years. (I've only been around since day 1 open Beta, but I wish I was there for closed, too) I was so young! xD

I wont be attending any of these as they invariably turn into farce. However, can some one thats not a total suck up (there arent many) please ask the developers, Lockwood in particular, how they can justify their rising prices, and post any answer, if any, here.

Thank you in advance.

It's down to Sony mostly. EVERYTHING has risen in price on PSN lately.

Dunno about that Elfen, I cant fathom why Lkwd get away with charging 8 quid or w/e it is for their mechjets/bots and yet the likes of konami who put out suits with custom animations too only charge £2. I'd like an explantion from the horses mouth. I'm not holding my breath though. I did ask the question here and was flatly ignored by lkwood-voice.

Because they see us all as stupid consumers. Stupid people will pay the stupid price. If anything, blame the people that pay these prices, because Lockwood aren't stupid, and have seen an opportunity here to charge more money.

Another good event at inconvenient times. Is someone going to write everything down and post it? (Any public redeem code goodies too please).

I intend to write most, if not all, of what is said while trying to keep up with what's happening at the events themselves.

I apologize that the times don't suit everyone but unfortunately I have to arrange them at those times to suit the majority. Keep in mind that all but one of the developers will be attending in early afternoon.

Same for any price increase, If people pay it, they will charge it.  But im sure it will be down to overheads and quality really. You know theres no actual piont in asking that question (doesnt mean your question has no value it just means the answer will have no value) and that these events arent set up to slaughter the developers. Because im sure if most of us asked the questions that we really wanted answers to. A lot of developers wouldnt come and would probably hide. We all take things on home seriously which shows we care, but you have to remember its a business and we are all part of that business model even if you buy nothing. If you hang out in a space, chances are your friends will, chances are they friends will as well, chances are a random visitor will stay because theres people in this space (watch how times a user will arrive in a nearly empty space and leave as so as they realise) So the chances are more users means more buyers. So just by hanging out in home you become part of the business. Of course if any developers wants to become part of a roast event im sure the space could be filled many times over. But dont see it happening in near future. BTW im far from being a suck up but im a realist and trying to Ski up hill isnt a hobby of mine either.
