Problems connecting Vita

Hi, having some strange (to me) problems connecting my Vita to the PSS studio.  Problem seems to be more to do with the Development Assistant on the vita than the PSSS but here goes....

When I plug the Vita into the pc

  • Windows recognises the vita (so I'm assuming the drivers are correctly installed).
  • Content manager tells me the Vita is connected.
  • Vita appears as a run target in the PSS Studio.

When I start the Development Assistant on the Vita

  • Windows changes the vita from a fully recognised 'device' to an 'unknown' "PSVita type D" with no drivers available.
  • CM says the device is disconnected.
  • Vita disappears from the target list in PSSS.

So the basic problem is that I need to run the DA on Vita to run code but but doing so makes the vita vanish.

I've tried all the usb 2.0 ports, updated usb drivers and reinstalled the DA.

At this point I'm hoping that someone can point and laugh at the really stupid thing I've done/forgotten. :smileyfrustrated:

Any help appreciated

Re: Problems connecting Vita

Sounds like you didn't install the Vita Driver when the SDK installed. The last step of installtion should have installed the driver and you would've been prompted to accept a non-signed driver. I believe the driver installation files are somewhere in program files\sce\pss\? Have a look there and see if you can run the driver installation package manually.

Re: Problems connecting Vita

Yep, that did it.  Thought the drivers had all installed on the first (of many) installation of pss.

Embarrassed but happy.

Many thanks for the help

No prob, glad you got it sorted :smileyhappy: Seems there are a number of issues for many users not being able to set up their devices correctly.
