Monkeys! You either love them or hate them! To some they can be cute and cuddly and to others they can be real pest.

In the case of Ape Escape, the first incarnation to be released on the PS3, they are most definitely the latter. Using your PlayStation Move controller, you get to fight off the apes with some cool gadgets in Chase Battles as well as stopping them from stealing your bananas in Capture Battles.

To celebrate the release of Ape Escape, we have a T-Shirt of the game to give away. All you have to do is come up with and describe your own gadget that could be used to catch a mischievous monkey that tries to steal your banana. The most original idea will be chosen by us on the community team and the winner will receive the T-Shirt. Oh and remember to keep it clean

The closing date is on 3rd July 2011 at 8pm.

So get those thinking caps on and give us your ideas!

Specific Rules for the Ape Escape Gadget Challenge

1.    This promotion is open to residents of UK and Ireland aged 16 years or over.

2.    To enter this promotion, entrants must:

(i)           Go to their local language forum at http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu (“the Forum”);

(ii)           Click on the PlayStation®Move board;

(iii)         Sign in to their PlayStation®Network (PSN Account), or if they don’t already have one, create and sign in to a PSN Account;

(iv)         To enter, you must write a short description of a gadget that could be used to catch monkey doing mischief to steal a banana.

3. Registration for PSN is subject to acceptance of the PSN Terms of Service and User Agreement and PSN Privacy Policy.

4. The opening date is 24/06/11 at 12:00pm and the closing date is 03/07/11 at 08:00pm

5. All entries must be original and the entrant’s own work (please click on the General Rules for further details). Entrants may only enter the promotion once.

6. Entrants must adhere to the General Rules and in particular, to sections 7 and 8. In addition, entries must not contain any (i) pornography, nudity, or sexually explicit imagery, (ii) abusive, offensive or hateful imagery or language, (iii) harassing or defamatory content, (iv) content that compromises the privacy or safety of yourself or others, (v) content that demeans a particular gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or nationality, (vi) violent or dangerous behaviour, and/or (vii) spam, advertising or other commercial activities.

7. Following the closing date, the community team will select 1 winner who they consider has submitted the best poem.

8. The prize for the winner is an Ape Escape T-Shirt.

9. The winner will be notified by e-mail within 2 weeks of the closing date and will be given 4 weeks to claim their prize.

10. The Promoter will use reasonable endeavors to dispatch the prize within 30 days of receipt of the entrant’s claim but the Promoter does not accept any responsibility for prizes that are dispatched later than this period.

11. Prizes shall be sent by email or post to the address associated with the winner’s PSN Account. 

12.  If the prize is found to be defective or damaged on delivery, the Promoter must be notified in writing within 7 days of the delivery date, otherwise the prize will be deemed to be accepted as delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights (if any).   

13. The Promoter shall publish the winner’s PSN online ID and country of residence on the Website. Entries may remain on the competition thread within the Forum at the Promoter’s discretion.
