EyePet "Move Edition"?!

[ Edited ]

I've just seen some (European) box art for EyePet "Move Edition". I was under the impression that the existing game would be patched with Move support but this has me worried that we'll be expected to actually buy a different version of the game.

Has anyone heard confimation on this either way?

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

They did say there was going to be a patch, but because i haven't heard them say it in quite a while, im getting worried about that too. I know Heavy Rain is getting a patch, then the move edition is for new people who haven't yet picked up the game, or who haven't got an internet connection, so hopefully it's the same case here.

Pretty sure it's the game + patch. So if you have eyepet already you can download a patch.

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

hey hey

it actually makes perfect sense that the move edition will be a different version of the game.

the move software will be hardcoded directly to the disc and it will be a solus pack which doesnt come with camera or move or the tracking card.

thats actually pretty awesome because what anoyed me most is that eyepet was a bundled game only so i was forced to get a second camera (which i traded back) now eye pet will appeal to a more casual gamer base (those with move) and will have a cheaper entry price due to being a solus pack.

with RE5's announcement about technical issues for existing games it is a worry though for other games and eye pet althought it was announced to be patched :/

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

In your shoes i wouldnt worry... it would be too long drop down for Sony to reach bottom level where such crapcom tactics are actually doable.

My requests for SONY: 1) Integrate PlayStation3 and your 400 disc MEGACHANGER, Im way too lazy to switch game BDs, u could call it forexample MEGASTATION. 2) Build Specialized Fat-AiBO which has MEGASTATION in belly and two projectors as eyes for 3D projection in any given room of the house. You can call them PLAiBO.

Eye pet was allways available as a stand alone BD with out the PSeye. It was over priced ripp off as the bundle was only £2 more with the camera.

Move will change the gameplay a tiny amount the fun part was that you only needed the card for object movement. The pet reacts to you. The magic card was layed flat on the floor alot of a time which is going to be different on Move.

Move Edition Is getting a State side release as well as EU update.

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/11535819/EyePet/Product.html it's been out since launch day. Now for those who have online there's an option of buying the BD for EYEPET and waiting for the PATCH or wait and see if MOVE edition has EXTRA content instead.

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

Looks more like a rebate or discount if you already own the original... See this interview extract (dated 16th March 2010) with EyePet producer: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/16/interview-eyepets-nicolas-doucet-discusses-move-integration/

How will European gamers (who already have a copy of EyePet) be able to play this new Move-enabled version? Will it be released as a patch?

We're going to make sure we make this version available to those that bought the original EyePet at a very, very discounted price. It's being discussed exactly if it should be completely free, but I think at worst it will be a small fee. Obviously, there's still a lot of new functionality, there's new toys, but we're going to make sure whatever we do, people won't feel like they're being shortchanged.

Re: EyePet "Move Edition"?!

i wont buy a new one just for move and if its not free or patched then it goes in the trade in pile.

while i believe that RE5 had some justified reasons for not being able to patch but this would be a frightening trend if gamers accept it and repurchase. theres bound to be some company that will use this as a money maker.

cheers for the update
