The E3 Ghost recon demo shows that they have allready improved it from that 2010 demo.
Just no developer is brave enough to build direction controll in to a full Kinect shooter title.
Steel battalion : Heavy armour uses a normal 360 controller with Kinect to get around this.
Yet as we all know Kinect was and still is advertised as " No Controller Needed " ![]()

Developers are facing delays with kinect programming.
Heavy Fire: Afghanistan which was released in November for PS3 and Wii is delayed for kinect.
It has gone from a "Requires kinect" title to a "Better with kinect" title but its only an on the rails shooter like time crisis.
The US sites list it as shipping with a gun add on...

You know what's going to happen with Kinect don't you?
What Sony have done. IE.. ( Add a controller " PS-Move " to work in conjuction with the Camera " PS-EYE " ).
If MS added a controller like the PS-Move to Kinect, MS & developers would be able to make far more game choice for 360. Even ( If they implemented this into older games ) like Sony have done.
So from " No controller needed " it could also be marketed as " Kinect & MS-Move needed "? Like we see on some Sony games ( PS-Move only ) title.

Now As for Lag on kinect.
Acording to the developer of Project draco the only other shooter (dragon based it may be) in development. ( December 2011 )
Nothing has been done about it and its still there but not enough to spoil the game hes making.
The Kinect can sometimes have lag. How does that affect an action game like this?
YF: At the moment, it hasn't become a major issue. We're helped by the fact that you're piloting a large dragon in this game, and so in the game world, there's going to be a little bit of a delay between your commands and his movements. There isn't going to be the sort of lag that causes stress to the gamer, however.

Kinect is ok and thats basically the problem; both aren't that great. They hold little interest other than being used for parties and the like. My daughter and son both have kinects and they hardly ever use them. We had a wii as well but my son was always on my PS3 or his Xbox. There is nothing that attracts me to either platform too be honest just give me my trusty old joypad!!!!

I think if you have kids, (as I do), then Kinect is the far superior option.
While the games lack precision, they are created so as not to need it, so the play well enough. Especially for kids.
I waited a year before buying in because I was utterly unconvinced by it, and there were a lot of issues with lag (according to the forums). I have to say that the lag has been either grossly over played, or they have managed to get it down to acceptable levels, because most of the games don't really have a lag issue, and they do track you remarkably well.
Most of my mates had it for their kids, and every time we visited, the kids had a hoot playing on it. So I figured it was worth getting.
With Move, I just haven't seen anything worth buying it for yet. For me this is a no brainer Kinect slaughters Move, but as a kids peripheral, with kids, casual & exercise games, though it is good to see it also getting integrated so well into games like ghost recon & mass effect.

We had Kinect for the kids, and they asked for a new Wii after playing Kinect? When i asked WHY? the kids all told me that the games are laggy and that it effects the gameplay.
( Kinect Adventures ) was the one they showed me what they were on about with the lag. ( When they jump or duck, or move left or right Kinect didn't move as they did, the lag effected their game playing ). So after a few other games they still wanted the Wii, so i got it for them and took Kinect back.
They already have PS-Move and for my kids to dislike Kinect says something as they like everything else. So i wouldn't really say ( if you have kids, then Kinect is the far superior option ) because my kids hated it due to laggy gameplay.
The kids now have well over 30 PS-Move games, so there's plenty of choice and thanks to Sony adults can also enjoy using the PS-Move with their games ( Killzone 3 / MAG / Undead III ) ect. I would say that out of the two ( Kinect and PS-Move ) It would be Sony having the upper hand.

As always, the answer ties in with preferrence.
The only reason I would prefer Kinect over PS Move (and I say would, because I haven't touched Move), is because I've got the Wii, and I've had that thing since release. I haven't seen ANYTHING from Move that has made me think I need it/made me think it's a vast improvement on what the Wii offers.
That said, I had Kinect bought with the new 360 when that was first released. I played Kinect Adventures for a few days, and had some laughs, and I can honestly say I didn't witness any of this 'lag' that keeps popping up in this topic, but Kinect gets just as uninteresting as the Wii has become, and I'm assuming the same for Move also.
Kinect now sits behind our TV. Last time it was used was Christmas day, as I purchased Kinectimals for our daughter. She didn't think much of it at the moment, she didn't quite grasp what was needed of her. I'll try again when she's 3 (March).
I may use it for Mass Effect 3, but I'm not impressed by what either of these movement fads have done so far. Maybe it's too early to be thinking about implementing movement into the gaming at the moment?
