Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

I think Sony & Microsoft have missed the boat.

People who wanted to play these types of casual games did it cheaply from the start by buying a Wii.  It really tapped into something initially with the casual gamer/kids & was a huge success even though it was fairly low tech basic stuff.

After Christmas 2 years ago I was hearing nothing else but talk about the Wii as everyone seemed to have got one.  All the usual stuff, wii fit this & fun party games that.  A year later I can honestly say I hear nothing about it from anyone.  They are all gathering dust.

Then during this period of not hearing how great the Wii is anymore Sony & Microsoft release their versions but all the casual gamers have already had their fix/fad they are not interested.  That leaves us, the hobbyist gamers, for Sony & MS to sell these systems to.  But we don't want this style of gaming, that's why we bought PS3's and Xbox's from the start & avoided the Wii like the devils own.

And that's why I think they just don't work.

From personal experience two of my real life mates on my PS3 friends list bought a Move at xmas & I never see them on it.  I personally cringe when I see move compatibility on a game box now & just pray they haven't dumbed down the game to allow it to be played with the move.  I'm looking at you R3 :smileywink:

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

tbh I get quite a lot out of Move. Maybe that is due to having children and playing Start the Party and my wife's drunken nights with Singstar Dance.

I go through phases of using it a lot then not touching it for a few weeks. Usually playing The Fight or Sports Champions and if my brother ever gives it back Resi 5. I don't tend to use it for Killzone as I prefer the dual shock.

Don't get me wrong though, there should be a lot more titles for Move. Sorcery looks great but god knows when that will come out.

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

I feel much the same about the move. I was excited by the tech but bored with its applications, so far. Child of Eden may just change that. Incidentally I noticed this http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/15606215/Child-Of-Eden/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts...

Pretty good deal me thinks. Unless the price changes before release.

"Let's eat Grandma" or "Let's eat, Grandma" - Punctuation saves lives.

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

No bloody way I hate the 360 I like Kinect but despise the xbox. I'm just talking sense move is a failure and will be forgotten in the next generation playstation

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

As much as I would like to disagree with the OP, but I think the PS Move will have a slow death over the coming months/years. Especially when Sony's main interest is the promotion and development of the PS Vita (and the PS4 whenever that is).

It is a great shame!!!

The PS Move has been a success for me. I have actually enjoyed playing a First Person Shooter on a console for the first time ever. Killzone 3 works brilliantly with the Move. RUSE is much better with the Move, and most Sports games are better too. I have even had friends and family around, and they were so impressed with the Move that they bought it. Sports Champions and Start the Party are still played occasionally.

I love to see a Sports Champions 2 with online game play and Start the Party 2.

The lack of development of compatible games is the problem. I look at the shelves and some previews, and with some games I start thinking "only if it was Move compatible I would buy it". There is just a lack of interest, lack of games, nothing catches my eye.

The only exceptions are:

Tiger Woods, but I have never been a big fan of golf games.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2, but movie based games are usually rubbish.

UFC Personal Trainer looks OK, but that be much better with the Kinect interface.

Resistance 3 looks good, but Uncharted 3 is due to be released about 1 to 2 months later.

Sorcery is turning out to be a GT5, something I really wanted but over time the hype fades.

Once again, a great shame!!!

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

I'm looking forward to Sorcery, but in the mean time i will get by with Start the party, Heavy rain, Tumble, Sports champions, Flight control HD, Funky lab rat, High velocity bowling, Planet mini golf, TW 201......that pile of games alone will see me will into next year for move stuff.

So for me the Move has been and still is a great little addition to the PS3 and i have not even scratched the surface...so many games, so little time.

Well they annouced the Move bundle for Resistance 3, NBA 2K12 would use the Move, then they announced Medievil Move: Deadmunds Quest would use Move.  Then they showed a movie of "up coming" Move games, one looked like a Spiderman game.  Then they showed Infamous 2 & LBP 2 would use Move with a future patch.

Then they had the bloke who is behind Bioshock Infinite and he said he was going to put Move into his game, Then they showed of the new Star Trek game, which again will use Move.

Re: Lets face it... Move is a failure

NBA 2k11 was quite good with Move. As I have said, Top Spin is good with the Move but people can not still stand up for Sony when it comes to The Move. Its got the potential, but the games just aren't there.

You know what, your right. I mean I'm loving the Move games and controllers, as are loads of other people, but the amount of evidence you have brought to this discussion just proves the Move as a peripheral is a failure. /end sarcasm
