Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg responds to Sony's 'Move'

Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has responded to Sony's unveiling of its 'Move' controller.

With Sony's controller bringing motion control to PlayStation3 (to a far greater degree than Sixaxis ever allowed), Microsofts Aaron Greenberg was asked what he thought of the move.

"Xbox 360 has a strong history of innovation," says Greenberg, ignoring Move entirely. "Halo, Xbox Live and instant-on 1080p HD. With each of these, we had our sights set on the future - and it paid off for us, the industry and Xbox 360 owners. We are doing it again with Project Natal on Xbox 360. We believe controller-free experiences are the future of gaming and entertainment.

"Only Project Natal makes you the controller, putting you in the middle of the action and in complete control. Jump and your Avatar jumps. Speak and characters respond. Combined with Xbox Live, Project Natal will transform how you connect with your friends, family and entertainment as only Xbox 360 can do."

Isn't the Playstation eye similar to natal, or is it just me?

[ Edited ]

I won't be able to wonder around Elder Scrolls V with NATAL so it's gonna flop big time !!

I won't be able to run through levels in FPS and Third Person Games in general so it's gonna flop big time !!

However i will be able to do this with the TREYstation Move !!

Re: Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg responds to Sony's 'Move'

I think it's eventually dawned on Microsoft that Natal is going to have very limited use - and is basically going to be wack.

Probably why it's deemed just a 'project'.

Re: Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg responds to Sony's 'Move'

Natal with it's full body control is ... b*****it ... I can hardly imagine that gamers, hardcore gamers especially (which I still think represents a wast majority of console gamers, givin the sales of MW2, or halo or Uncharted 2), will not enjoy putting down the controller and playing without it. It will be plain stupid playing FPS, TPS, Racing or RTS or TBS games without controler. Just imagine playing God of War 3 without controler ... How could that be? Constant walking before your screen, jumping up, stupid body positions to combos? No, no, no and no ... At least with move I can imagine especially with the subcontroler, but no control gameplay will be good only for some party games, and maybe a small precentage of the rest ... But not for the hardcore gamers. I cannot imagine playing Wolfenstein with my body instead of a controler ...

I don't know if this will land me in a bit of bother, but don't you think that these Americans are very boisterous? Aaron Greenberg is always making comments with his big flapping mouth (granted, it is his job right?), but you don't get that over here or in Europe.

Re: Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg responds to Sony's 'Move'

Can the Natal be used with normal games, when i say normal i mean games like resident evil which is supposed to support the move soon, or can it only play stupid games like the eye toy and eye play games?

If it can play normal games then this could be a good thing if not then that bloke from Microsoft really should keep his mouth closed.
