Hello,
I recently purchased the PS3 Move navigation controller to use with my Sharpshooter gun. When I plug it in (using an official USB cable that came with my PS3) it works just fine. It appears to charge normally and I can use the buttons to control the interface etc. When I go to Settings -> Controller Assignments it is automatically assigned slot 7 (not sure if this is relevant or not)
Whenever I unplug it though, it goes dead and won't switch on, therefore making it useless if you would like to use it with the Sharpshooter. I've tried everything - resetting the controller, re-assigning the controller number, but nothing seems to work.
Do I have a defective unit, or is this a common issue? If so, is there a solution? Should I try and take it apart and replace the battery?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Vic.

I have this same exact issue. My Move controller works fine unplugged but I can't say the same for the Navigation controller.
EDIT: I went ahead and reset all of my controllers (Two Dual Shocks, Move and Navigation) and re-synced them. That seemed to do it for some reason. Oh well, I won't question it it. At least it's working!
