Hey People,
We just wanted to remind you about a few 'Best Practises' you should keep in mind when using PlayStation Move. There's quite alot of safety information already contained within your PlayStation Move manual and some of this is below; however we've been mucking about with Move for a couple of weeks and wanted to pass on our own advice too.
First things first - here's the safety information from the Move manual:
Community Team Move Best Practises
Firstly and most importantly:
ALWAYS WEAR THE STRAP.
We cant emphasise this enough and you should drill this into anyone who comes to play with your Move controllers. If you swing the controller and it slips (which, when you're all sweaty from playing The Fight is more than possible), it will fly with some speed into whatever you swung at. Which will more than likely be your TV.
Charge it properly before first use.
As with all batteries, the rechargable battery in the PlayStation Move controller will last longer if you give it a full charge before use. This shouldn't take long, just plug it in to your PS3 without turning the controller on and let it charge until the red light stops flashing.
Keep your distance from the TV.
You should always bear in mind where you are in relation to the TV and the PlayStation Eye when using Move. If the Eye cant see you, it can't track you. Further, if the controller is too close to the TV the PlayStation Eye will struggle to track it and you risk whacking your screen. We've found that Move operates very well from 1M away.
Supervise young children.
Children have wild imaginations and are almost guaranteed to pretend the PlayStation Move controller is a lightsabre. Unlike a real lightsabre, your Move controller will not slice through a table if it comes into contact with it. Keep an eye on them whilst they're using it.
Don't let your dog near it.
The end of a PlayStation Move controller looks like a chew-toy fun time to canines - keep it out of reach of your mutt.
Don't assign the controller to port 1.
Some games require that the motion controller be assigned to port 7. Move will almost always assign itself to port 7 or, if something else is assigned to port 7, port 6. If you're having problems getting the controller to work with some games, make sure it's assigned to port 7.
Warn your housemates.
If you share a house with a few people and are playing on your own, warn your housemates before playing anything energetic with PlayStation Move. The last thing they want is to be smacked in the face by a keenly swung virtual 9 iron, so give them a heads up or ask them to knock before they come into the room.
Sort your lighting out.
Move is usually very good at performing despite poor lighting, however you should always make sure that no light is shining directly into the PlayStation Eye or onto your play area. Also try to make sure there are no lamps or other sources of very bright light in view of the PlayStation Eye.
...That's it from us!
If you've got any other hints or tips on using PlayStation Move, post them below. Otherwise, have fun with your shiny new toy!
Much Love,
The Community Team.

i can second this but not because my dog chewed it. i gave him a good whack on the nose whilst trying to get some mega-back spin in table tennis. my knuckles hurt after that. and i lost the game....

You forgot some:
Watch out for ceiling fans!
If you have ceiling fans on normal height ceilings, make sure they are switched off and that taller players do NOT fully extend their arms upward. Games to watch out for with this are Beach Volleyball and Gladiators in Sports Champions.
Keep the playing area clear!
Yes you may be wearing the strap and waving the Move away from that coffee table but there is always the chance you may lose balance or your clothing may knock over that drink. Cleaning up spills does NOT count towards a fun playing experience.
A storage tip? I hang mine from a hook by the chord, that keeps any weight off the ball so will avoid it going a funny shape. They also look quite funky like that.
