Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

[ Edited ]

On store Today

11 GB+ download for both total..Holly crap.

£16.99 for both or £11.99 each.

Thats a lot of HD upscaling art work done. How big were Wii discs in GB again.

Can these knock... the other Wii Port HOTD 5 from the top spot for on the rails shooting. May be. Ill let you know After the store updates.

(If Capcom bugger this up. there will be no way for them to recover for me. After the messed up Devil may cry HD versions)

Umbrella Chronicals - First part of the collection.

This follows the standard Resi rules except....

The base postol is unlimited ammo.

QTE are every were. (blame RE4 for that)

You are given a tiny amount of camera controll with the nav controller.

Standard Resi gameplay but from First person.

Anyone silly enough to attempt HARD on first go deserves to Die lots and lots of times and likely will.

Resi games require a play though on easy first to learn the ropes and get weapons powered up, then you play hard level with the bonuses you got via playing easy... This forces Replays of the game increasing life span.

There are mini side quests to do from other players point of view.

Extra weapons are unlocked sooner. If you do these side quests.

You can only Pre select 1 extra weapon but more can be picked up as you move though the levels and they will default to the upgrades you set.

Is it fun, yes, its Resi, Is it as much "all out care free fun" as HOTD 5 ? Not a valid question after playing it.

The Gameplay is not the same.  Resi gameplay has always been slower than any game going and putting it on rails does not help as it slows right down. Even slower than deadspace games..

The game has Full 3D player models shown when the save game action happens as you have this Third person camera animation run. As the players look bored waiting for the game to save...

May have been a capcom Inside joke at a forced limitation of the game.

FMV Resi 4 quality cut scenes are in the game. This does show up how bad the game engine is when it trys to do a cut scene on its own.

Hopefully Dark chronicles will fix some things but as Resi games need to be played in the correct order Im not touching that untill umbrella part is finished at least once...

Even with its faults this is massively better then the DMC HD junk...This is moved enabled for a start.

DS3 for a light gun game lol. No thank you. Even for the two player you might be forced to get a second Move..

There is No way I would buy this, If I did not have Move for PS3..

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

Is Darkside Chronicles not PSMove compatible? It seems that the PSMove is not recognized on the calibration screen everytime the game starts. Anyone else is having problems? I downloaded the game twice but the same problem remains..!

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

Any game that loads the MOVE firmware is move compatable. (you know that white screen with instructions on it )

Yes, Both are move enabled.

Don't use a DS3 untill told to. you launch the game with Move. You press start on the move to do the calibration the first time it loads.

Only when asked to pair the Move with the DS3 or nav, do you touch the DS3 or Nav for the first time.

You do the same as in umbrella game, Press Square on Move at the same time as pressing L3 on Nav/DS3.

Then your ready to go.

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

Thank for the info. But when I start the game (only with the Move) the Move's ball blinks red, so when I pass to the "CALIBRATE" option and I point the Move to the PSeye and press the T button then the Move stars to blink RED,GREE,BLUE and then the text "PLEASE RE-CALIBRATE" appears on screen, so I repeat the same thing over and over again but it never seems to work. Why? When I play Umbrella C. works perfect, only with Darkside appears this problem. Thanks for the help.

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

So, is this worth getting?

Was about to buy it for £15 and then saw it shoot up to £20 :smileysad:

Does it feel more like a fully fledged game or just a PSN title?

If you don't like RE story lines, DO NOT buy this. being RE makes up for alot of the flaws...

The first game keeps way to much Wii Design in the game and it drags the game down with it.

With a normal PS3 game, you would play from Chapter 1 till the end credits if you wanted to. (aka HOTD5. RE5. HR ) Or you chould choose to quit and do a side mission.

This games forces to many menus on the user. This is because its meant for Wiis HIT and RUN casual gamer market.

This gives the game a less than Full fledged feel. but capcoms FMV ( when you get them) and Voice over intros (If you know the player doing the voice overs and his part in later games it makes it better.) "Pull" the game back up from being a cheap PSN title to being a Better than normal PSN title.

Now the real Issue Umbrella C is way over priced at £11.99. Yes you have to pay that price because capcom actualy did the work. Yes they finaly did an HD upgrade correctly. but Its to old and looked dated even on the Wii. not just a few years old it released in 2007 for the Wii. The same year EU got the PS3...

£7.99 yes but £12 No not for part 1.

only part way though part 2.

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

Darkside chronicles.

This is a hole different standard of game than Umbrella C.

It increases the Graphics model buy a lot. (Well it was 2009)

It also changes the control system. Resident Evil 5s weapon selection D-pad and user choice for where the weapons go. All Camera control is gone.

Also adds the Buddy system you saw in RE4 and RE5. (Escort duty)

It returns the inventory system from past games were you can choose to heal the other player or your self.

You can see RE5 in its gameplay as the AI partner Shoots Zombies but at a very slow rate.

Gold returns as the upgrade system as well. (you can see were this is going can't you)

This is a full quality product not a Normal PSN game. Nearly all the Wii specific market junk is gone and Its taken a lot from RE5. Its increased the pace from the very first level.

but there's a reason for that.

OK here's what will put people off but it needs to be said.

This is the Resident Evil 5 game engine but for the Wii... It can't hide it. It has way to much in common.

That's a good thing, Its RE5 Set in old RE locations and a few new ones with a graphics hit.

This game is worth about £10 but £12 is pushing it.

The Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection.

Worth the New collection price? Err NO way.

Are we lucky to have it on PSN? Hell yes.

Is it worth Skipping Umbrella C?.  No it still has the Resi plot line in it.

Are capcom over charging, Yes really, Umbrella C is just not good enough, Can you look past that, yes because its Resident evil but it will still be there in the back of your mind that you have over paid for the collection.

Black king out. ( A Resi joke )

Re: Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection Move enabled.

Thanks for the comments. If it was still £15, I would have got it. As it is, I have just started a new job and got too many games to finish anyway. Once I've cleared my backlog, it might be in a sale :smileywink:
