Why the lack of interest??

I know its early days, but the sales of the PS move have been pretty poor. I would have thought it would have done much better. Sports Champions and Start the Party, are casual games yes, but are absolutely amazing at showing off how good the move is and the price is just right  got the Move controller for only £29.99 from toys r us but I havent heard any shops selling out at all. Many PS3 owners as well are not interested I really hope that this doesnt mean Sony  will abadon the Move if it doesnt get more popular, I think maybe its due to the fact that the look is similar to the Wii and people do not understand how much better it is. What do you guys think?

'shouldn't it be 'mofu?'

Re: Why the lack of interest??

I have to say that with F1 and Fifa coming out recently it has limited my time on the Move because there is lack of depth to keep me on a Move title for a long time.

I do hope the sales pick up and it goes from strength to strength. It's a great piece of hardware and clearly has the potential to be better than Wii with its accuracy and detail PS3 can deliver.

I think the Wii is too much in the public eye, im fairly confident most people know someone with a Wii and they will talk it up which might convince sales. This is what Move needs to acheive, word of mouth awesomeness.

Guys, where is the proof of this perceived lack of interest?  I am not saying there isnt any, just where is it?  Any official figures etc?

Re: Why the lack of interest??

I would like to see some figures but where I work in Tescos for the first 2 weeks we were constantly sold out - the Arguments I had with customers when they saw my copy of Sports Champs and The controller itself ..... lol

Re: Why the lack of interest??

Well things have picked up in terms of advertising, the PS Move is advertised on YouTube I noticed, and I saw and advert for it on T.V the other day.

I think though, that people are automatically writting it off as a Wii mote rip off. Because let's face it: to the unrtained casual person: it very much is a wii rip off. We as gamers and PS3 owners know it not to be the case, but it wouldn't seem that way to someone who doesn't know much about it.

What they should have done, is shown Sorcerry, KillZone 3 and GT5 using the Move in the advert rather than start the party, to show that it's not just a WII rip off and will benefit existing PS3 owners.

It's actually selling pretty good from what I hear, it's just that the interest is dieing down as there are no good games outside of Sports Champions and arguably, Tumble.

Re: Why the lack of interest??

I work at GAME and many stores in my region sold out during the first week of release. Having said that, I don't think move has really caught on yet, the main responses from the customers who haven't been interested are 1) 'oh it's just like the wii, isn't it' which of course we all know it isn't, both graphically and in terms of accuracy, sensitivity and gameplay potential! and 2) the lack of a decent range of launch titles. Sports Champions and Start the Party are awesome fun but to me they feel a little like glorified demos. I think as soon as a big name game comes out like Killzone3  or LBP2 that's when the move will really take off but as of yet I don't think there's anything which showcases its full potential.

Xmas sales are prety much guaranteed though!

Re: Why the lack of interest??

It was selling out in my local supermarkets, but not in Game, that may be because of the price Game charge though. Don't underestimate the "silly" games appeal either, my sister in law saw the demo of start the party on my PS3 yesterday and she went from "so what, its just another PS3 game and controller" to "I'm so getting that for Christmas to play on my boyfriends PS3".

Re: Why the lack of interest??

I said it before and i'll say it again! Sony's advertising on TV has been non-existent with Move which i think has hindered sales because i know quite a lot of PS owners who still don't have a clue what it is.....
