A big thank you to Sony

A change of tone from the current  ''Sony is crap/stupid for being hacked'', I would like to extend my thanks to everyone at Sony for finally getting the PSN back up and running again.

Like everyone else, I had hoped for a speedy recovery for PSN after the initial outage. However, once news of hacking began to surface, I realised that a rapid recovery would not be possible.

I am impressed in the way Sony handled the whole incident, providing us with as much information as they could give us. I take my hat off to the nameless people who have spent the last 20+ days building PSN up from the floor again, and I hope they get the time off they deserve.

Again, thank you Sony

I know its not the best worded of posts, but writing is not my Forte, I prefer numbers.

I'd say it's way above the average contribution here.

In light of PatC's post, I'd just like to point out that I was "^ that " to the main body of the post, not the last line, and I fully agree that the post was very nicely done :smileyhappy:

I agree with the OP, but I'm less than impressed with the free games as I've paid money for all but one of them.

Re: A big thank you to Sony

Totally agree with the OP.  I know people have their own opinions about how Sony handled the outage, but I think they did a good job. They were under a horrific amount of pressure, both to get the PSN back up and running as soon as they thought it was safe to do so, and to 'compensate' users for the downtime. They are never going to be able to please everyone!

Well said OP.  I think Sony have reacted well, and very generous with the welcome back package.

Because the games are all quality it is inevitable some people are going to have them - otherwise they would be all games people don't want huh?

Re: A big thank you to Sony

I would have agreed was it not for their lack of support towards loyal customers by means of the "welcome back" package.

Meh is all i have at the moment for Sony ... :Shame:

Re: A big thank you to Sony

Thanks for sorting it out Sony!

I have all but one of the 'welcome back' games but that's because they're decent games and not the rubbish off the store that lots of people predicted would be offered to us, so it would be dumb to complain about that.

However those of you who have been blindly rocking the 'Sony did nothing wrong in the first place' vibe should consider reading the article by the Reuters Security Expert that was posted on IGN the other day.

Oh and before people say it, it comes from Reuters not IGN, they just posted the info up.
