A connection to the server could not be established

Does anyone know why I cannot acces the Sony store through my PS3 - I keep getting an error message saying that "A connection to the server could not be extablished" - I don't understand this as I am able to use the web browser, folding@home & the online instruction manuals without any problems .... it also says that my online user status is active :Confused:
