Re: Best Broadband For PS3?

BTBB user for a good few years, had no problems what so ever.. Totally agree, BT top package for over 3.5 years, never had any problems once activated (although the BT Homehub is a bit restrictive as to what settings you can change!) There customer service via e-mail is great, and now the phone support isn't so bad as it is FREEPHONE!!!! (I think that is a first) I have set up sky broadband routers for a few people, and they are very temperamental (ironic really as they look like a sky box!) P.S. I cannot get Virgin media where I live as I do not live in the city, but friends tell me that the speeds fluctuate quite a bit! (noticeable ups and downs at peak times)

I'm with O2 & have been for 4 years & never had any trouble with my connection what so ever they also have great customer service.

Also  Be there is owned by O2 so between them  they are probably the best isp's out there.

Re: Best Broadband For PS3?

If you want SKY B-Band, ask the B-Band Tech- department team for your ( Max Delays ) to be set too ( 8 ms ).

Or if your line is a good quality one ask for ( fastpath ) with max delays at 8 ms.

What your refering to is ping which is how fast your router sends info out & back to you which isn't something that your isp can control that is down to how far away you are from yourlocal exchange.

The only way you could have a super low ms response is if you live next door to the exchange.

Average ms response is around 20ms even if you have 50mb + connection.

Re: Best Broadband For PS3?

I'm with BT, BT Home Hub 3 and Unlimited but I get it for free so I have no complaints plus I have not had a problem with BT. My area is poor for internet anyway being out in the countryside village...

Ok' Yeah./ Erm, well before i asked SKY to change my Max Delays to 8 ms i was pinging the BBC at ( approx ) 50+ MS.  Now as soon as they changed my Max Delays to 8 ms, i now ping the BBC from 6 ms to 7 ms.

So yes in fact the ISP can control this.

Re: Best Broadband For PS3?

I haven't read the whole thread but this is one of those questions that can't really be answered. It's a bit like asking who is the best for car insurance. It varies so much that people can only give their personal opinion which isn't going to apply to anyone else.

Agreed. I 100% except that view.

But for all SKY B-Band users, they can ask the B-Band Tech- Dept-Team to set their Max Delays to 8 ms. For gaming this is better than SKY's standard 32 ms settings.
