If you want SKY B-Band, ask the B-Band Tech- department team for your ( Max Delays ) to be set too ( 8 ms ).

Or if your line is a good quality one ask for ( fastpath ) with max delays at 8 ms.

What your refering to is ping which is how fast your router sends info out & back to you which isn't something that your isp can control that is down to how far away you are from yourlocal exchange.

The only way you could have a super low ms response is if you live next door to the exchange.

Average ms response is around 20ms even if you have 50mb + connection.

Ok' Yeah./ Erm, well before i asked SKY to change my Max Delays to 8 ms i was pinging the BBC at ( approx ) 50+ MS.  Now as soon as they changed my Max Delays to 8 ms, i now ping the BBC from 6 ms to 7 ms.

So yes in fact the ISP can control this.

I was able to use Fastpath with my old ISP and depending on your line quality it can make your connection unstable.

In the end I went back to a normal connection because I was losing sync with the exchange.

I went cable with Virgin 6 months ago and it's been great. A lot better than ADSL.

I'm using fastpath as we speak as the line is of very good quality so i don't have worry about any sync loss, ect. This is why i said the above when asking sky for pastpath. But even if your using interleave SKY can lower the Max Delays which will still help for gaming, ect.

Just out of interest, where you said virgin is a lot better than ADSL, what pings do you get for pinging the BBC?

Re: Best Broadband For PS3?

I was doubled last year from 10mb to 20mb with virgin media and I was using multiplayer with 10mb on a range of games such as F1 2006 (PS3), F1 2009 (PSP), Need For Speed: Carbon (PSP), Race Driver: GRID (PS3), Burnout Paradise (PS3) and more. As far as I can remember it didn't have major problems. Just remember Ping is also an important factor in Online Gaming as it is the time a packet gets to a recipient from a sender (I.e, movement data in online games).
