EU PSN store and blog FAR inferior to US store and blog

Ok so everyone knows we get ripped off on pretty much everything in the EU/AU/NZ PSN stores, not to mention games and content turning up weeks/months late. But is it so hard to inform us of what's coming to the store early in the week like the US blog does and not ON THE DAY! The US blog updates on monday with "the drop" showing what will be releasing on wednesday when the store updates, then they post another entry to say exactly what's been added and all the final prices and any updates since monday's upcoming blog post. The EU blog however, stays completely SILENT all week until the PSN store updates then BOOM they update the blog simultaneously.

If I knew what was coming out on the store in advanced like the US blog, then I can better plan where and what I'll buy. Example, I had no idea BF3 would be releasing on the NZ PSN store on the same day as the official release until THE DAY they put it on the store! By then I had already picked up my preorder only to get home and find there's a digital copy up. If this were the US store the whole country would've known 3 days in advanced, unlike us who're left in the dark until the very last moment.

It's rare that I even buy anything from the NZ store anymore. Not only are most things late, they add insult to injury by jacking up the price. The ONLY exception is Dungeon Defenders, which the developers released the DLC for free to the EU stores to make up for being a few months late, but this is the ONLY example I've seen in years. There are a few other rare exceptions of games coming to us before the US like Malicious, but not much.

At the very least, please give us a heads up in the EU blog on what's coming up when the store updates instead of saying absolutely nothing until the day, that's all I ask.

As McNilio says also it TENDS to update between 15:30 and 19:00 hours

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Re: EU PSN store and blog FAR inferior to US store and blog

well I'm in New Zealand and for us our NZ store updates right after the UK store which is about 3-4am on Thursday (wednesday for UK/US). But the US store is updated on wednesday afternoon for me, so about 12 hours earlier.

That's not the point though, the point is that the US blog gives people a heads up, 'the drop', what they can expect to turn up when they store updates in 3 days. The UK/AU/NZ blog stays silent until the second they update the store, by then it's pointless because we can just go straight to the store and ignore the blog. The example I used with purchasing BF3 is another big reason why this is important.

Re: EU PSN store and blog FAR inferior to US store and blog

The blog usually update what store content will be around 12noon uk time.

The reason why it's left till a few hours before the store updates is more down developers not making things available to the EU till the last minute.

If they listed store content a few days ahead like they have on occasion in the past if that content isn't ready to go on the store for one reason or another you end up with people just constantly whining that they lied about what was going to be up.

Developers are responsible for making content available for all stores at the same time but saying that there are laws & other stuff that makes even distribution of content awkward.

I have to agree with the OP the EU store is rubbish compared to the US. I have had PS+ for just over a year now and there as been hardly anything to shout about in that time. This month they gave us games that have already been free not so long ago!  And one of them is Altered Beast which was offered for free when PSN came back online last year..

Then look at US PS+ they have got some fantastic free avatars, games, add-ons and themes. And their avatar section actually keeps avatars that have been offered months ago unlike the EU.

Yes but the US blog tells you what's coming on update day, then finalize it all with an updated post on the day to confirm what's been released (with prices) and also any new additions, so everyone knows not to expect exactly what they say until the release day post. The EU blog could and should do the same, there's no reason not to.

I know exactly what you mean. I signed up to Plus on day one, the free digital copy of LBP was enough to convince me. I didn't get anything out of Plus better than that. Their discounts are pointless, because you PAID to get a discount in the first place which defeats the purpose of getting a discount. If I ever do get Plus again, it'll definitely be with the US store, they're spoiled over there.

regular discounts for the US store this week are AWESOME. De Blob 2, Warhammer Kill Team, Crazy Taxi and DarkSiders all going cheap as chips.
