EU court rules that resale of downloadable software can't be blocked

It's a great day for European used software market: ZDNET reports that "downloaded software can be resold just like software on physical media can, the Court of Justice of the European Union has said in a ruling..."

This should mean that other types of software, including downloadable PSN, Xbox Live, Steam and Origin games, can be resold. Remains to be seen how long it will take for Sony, MS, Valve, EA, et al. to act upon the ruling to allow for resales, though.

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

So...

If games on the PSN do infact fall under this ruling then how does that leave Sony (And Microsoft I might add) when it comes to "No refund for this purchase.."?

Surely by this account it would mean that the "no refund" for any purchase doesnt stick anymore? Doesnt it?

Has anyone put thought to exactly HOW one might resell downloaded PS3 games with the current system - even if this ruling was to be upheld?

You can't.

If upheld Sony, Microsoft,Nintendo and others would have to introduce a system.

My guess if they do impliment it they would become a middle man and add a charge.

That is IF it is upheld.
