Ok you have a public IP which means you have a router, therefore no manual input will work so:

plug and turn on your PS3
turn off the modem for 2mins
turn it back on
wait 5mins so it can gather info
set everything on the PS3 to automatic setup.

Also make sure your modem has the latest firmware and drivers.

ok i will do that but how do you check your firmwall and drivers andhow will i know if it is the latest?

Go onto the make of the modems site, look for the modle number and download the firmware/drivers...

Then install them.

well it did not work... I did as you siad and yet again error 80710101 cant resolve name with server came up. what do i do now

Also you think having my firewall on the computer could be a reson why this is not working?

Anyone aware of the error code 8002A548? It seems to be to do with an inability to remain logged in. For example, when playing Warhawk it will just randomly disconnect from a server stating that I have been logged out, and quote the error code above. It (logged out, error code) also happens in Oblivion, when nothing is online anyway. Thanks for any possible help you can give!

I keep getting error 80710102.
Also when I do the internet connection test on my PS3 it says on my PC there is an IP address conflict and '' an error occured while resolving the name with the server ''.
