ok so i get Obtain IP adress: Succeeded
Internet connection: failed
A connection error has occured 80028ea6plz help me bin trying to fix for 2 days now im a wired user wiv just a modem

- On your computer that is connect to the internet, click the "Start" Button.
- In the Display window, look for the icon "RUN". Click this and a small box should appear.
- In that box type "cmd" (For XP Users and Vista (cmd without the"")) and "command" (for '98 Users and below (command without the ""))
- The black box that appears, known as the DOS. You will now need to type "ipconfig/all" (without the "")

Do that, and also read the welcome thread as you are new here. With that info, look for IP address, Subnet mask, Default Gateway and DNS Servers. Copy them down and put them into your PS3 manually.

ive done all that i jsut dont get it it still coes up with same error, and i dont know what my proxy adress is...Microsoft(R) Windows DOS

I keep getting error code 8002F994 when trying to install the 1.80 firmware upgrade, it only downloads 2%, so I am unbale to join the PS3 network or visit the store. My internet connection passed the connection test. Any ideas what this error is? I have also tried upgrading the firmware via my USB stick by downloading it via my PC, this error 80029C68 pops up saying the data is corrupt, I have re formatted my USB and re-tried but this still happens.
im having the same problem but with 1.81 did u find out how to sort it?

8002F994 - To many people downloading the update just sit back until later around 5pm and you should be able to get it.

5PM eastern time? because im in central time meaning its 4pm for me right?

Ok that is kind of wrong... I will have to get that changed.

I live in UK so it GMT. And do it in the morning, that when the servers will be less busy.

hi when i have connected my playstation 3 straight into the back of my pc, and it says on my pc the newtwork is connected, i have entered my pc's ip address and everything else manually into the ps3 but when i try to connect to the internet it says that it timed out while trying to get the ip address. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? please!

Dont enter your PS3's IP Address, enter it so it is the same but the last digit of it is 5 didgits higher.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one having problems with this. No matter what I try I cannot get my PS3 on the web. Have tried every different combination that I can think of - IP Addresses, DNS servers, WEP keys, etc.
I've even tried disconnecting my laptop from my wireless network and using it's settings on the PS3 - and it just won't connect.
I have tried for 4 hours on Saturday, 2 and a half yesterday and another 3 hours today.

Any help (from anyone) would be greatly appreciated.

i am currently running on the update 1.70 and my playstation 3 will not let me update to 8.81. it comes up with a server error 80710723. my internet works and i have succeeded to getting to 3% but it just comes up with same old server error please help me.
