So I guy I used to play with a lot got all my details ie name, dob, address, I presume he hacked my account,  He told me he is out to get me. So I make a new id and quit playing the game I met him on. My new id is similar but I only play black ops so I figure the chances of running into him are slim. Yesterday while in a pregame lobby my id appeared twice, not with the (2) after it like split screen, just the exact same. I left the game because I was totally freaked out. Was it some kind of a glitch or has he found me, Thx for any opinions and what should I do?

This is the account I believe was hacked, I dont want to use my new one, I can access it and nothing has changed , I dont no if it was hacked, I just cant figure out anyother way he got my info.

Why dont you change the password of this account and stop him from using it?

can someone get you personal details by hacking your account

and has anybody had themselves appear in a same game as 2 people when playing alone

this happened under my new id

I dont think its fair to slam my nationality because im not a playstation expert

your account cant be hacked unless they have your password which no one should know except u

all other personal details are easily obtainable from social network sites etc i have had someone copy my id with an extra symbol on it and they then trawled the internet and found the rest of my details but they dont have my password so they cant access my account but they stupidly sent me messages on the ps3 making childish threats to hack my account

unless they have your password your account is fine

did u share games with this guy u knew or dlc

is there any way u gave him your password

OK, lets get this straight if your account was hacked, (obviously it hasn't been stolen otherwise you wouldn't be able to access it due to the "hacker" changing the password on your behalf), then you need to take the following steps.

1).  Change your password ASAP. This you say you have done so, so far so good.

2). Next thing is, do you purchase items from PSN STORE (DON'T ANSWER ON HERE JUST ASK YOURSELF)? If NO then no worries.

3). If YES then do you pay via a PSN CARD? If yes, then again no worries.

4). Do you pay via CREDIT CARD (not necessarily yours)? If YES!!!! CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!! & order a new card

5). Get in the habit of changing your passwords every 3 months minimum.

YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS were, by your own admission, already known to your alleged "hacker" beforehand, so there is nothing you can do about that, but in future be more secretive about such details. The Internet is far to easy a place for personal details to become GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE. So avoid making them public anywhere on the net in future & remove them on all current applications if possible?

I hope this helps clarify the situation & now we wait for the usual trolls to add their 2 pennies worth of garbage such as conspiracy theories etc.

OK regarding your NEW ID, (just re read the post) It sounds to me like a freak glitch, but I don't play COD BO so cannot confirm that.

Unless you were  enough to use the same password with your new ID that you used on the original 1? It's highly unlikely its been hacked. Also another point to add is that I'm lucky enough to have access to 3 (three) PS3's in my house, & if I'm logged in on 1 & I login to same account on another (applies to any account), I'm automatically booted off the 1st PS3  WITH A MESSAGE TELLING ME I'VE LOGGED IN ON ANOTHER PS3
